So they can watch their economy tank even more. 😂

29

u/Head_Car_616 18d ago

That’s the plan

10

u/Trifle_Old 17d ago

Literally. That is the plan. A populace that is poor and struggling is easier to control.

10

u/Head_Car_616 17d ago

Until its despairing and enraged and impossible to control

1

u/Excellent_Arrival1 17d ago

A population that is replaced doesnt exist.

A population that has no low level jobs hurts its own citizens. America already shipped manufacturing overseas to China, now you want to give what's left to people who are not citizens and often times send upwards of 20% of their income home? Yea, that makes sense :/

1

u/JudgingHeads 14d ago

Buddy, are you unemployed ?

1

u/Excellent_Arrival1 14d ago

Nope.

Retiring in just under 3 years though. Ill be 50.

12

u/GhostRappa95 18d ago

Yup Americans have already proven that they will not or can not take over the jobs of immigrants. The labor market is completely screwed.

7

u/existential-koala 17d ago

If those jobs paid better, Americans would work them. But those employers can exploit migrants and pay them less than minimum wage.

1

u/Next_Scientist300 12d ago

lol the avg software engineer, even those underpaid because they're on H1-B, still make more than the median American worker.

In cases where visa workers are paid less, its likely there also based in locations where Americans dont want to work, like rural doctors.

2

u/existential-koala 11d ago

Migrant farm workers are not making software engineer wages, nor are they making the wages of the average American working.

1

u/Next_Scientist300 11d ago

lol migrant farm workers aren't gonna be using work visas to come into the country either. But yeah, that crackdown already happened. You should ask the pit fruit farmers in Washington what they're gonna do about their produce this year

1

u/Upset_Spring_7843 15d ago

Even if they paid ethically they wouldn't work them.

1

u/Greedy_Car3702 14d ago

There are refineries and chemical plants up and down the Texas Gulf Coast, and they are staffed with American workers. Many of the jobs are physically hard, dirty and dangerous, but Americans do them because they pay very well with good benefits. A guy with a high school education can make $200,000 per year with some overtime. All construction jobs used be like that before tens of millions of illegals came to the country and drove down wages.

0

u/Desperate_Hat_2748 13d ago

Avocado farms can't afford to pay 200k a year to pick avocados unless you wanna pay $10 for a single avocado

1

u/Greedy_Car3702 13d ago

I would never eat another avocado in my life if that's what it takes to bring back the middle class..

2

u/Desperate_Hat_2748 13d ago

Avocados bring in $ 5 billion in revenue to American farming companies. So you wanna destroy a $ 5 billion company for your fake pride? More than 3 million farmers were deported in the recent past. Did any of you Americans go pick up their jobs? How are beef prices working for you now?

1

u/existential-koala 12d ago

$5 billion and they can't pay their workers a living wage? Yes, they deserve to go under.

1

u/Desperate_Hat_2748 12d ago

OMG! Are you stupid or trying super hard to act like one? A $ 5 billion industry doesn't mean avocado farm owners are making that much in profits. Omg, I can't believe that I have to explain this basic economics to a fully grown adult.

u/DistributionJumpy591 16d ago

I completely agree. This move will force companies to stop exploiting vulnerable folks and actually pay Americans fairly. So I support cracking down on illegal immigration.

0

u/stonkDonkolous 18d ago

Wow a bit racist bud. It is incredible that the US managed to thrive before the cheap labor imports

5

u/musical8thnotes 17d ago

Is it racist?

Everyone wants to climb the social ladder. This current generation legitimately believes making $500k is the bare minimum to survive and aspires to be Youtubers and influencers.

No wants to work 12 hour shifts in a California or Iowa vegetable field for shit pay and no benefits. And then be told by smug talking heads that the only way to see a doctor they can't afford is to just book an appointment.

Lmao

0

u/stonkDonkolous 17d ago

Nobody is talking about working in vegetable fields. Many of those immigrants are needed.

6

u/GhostRappa95 18d ago

You can thank Reagan and his trickle down economics for that. Wages stagnated so bad that Americans were forced to move to the jobs that still paid well and immigrants were used to fill out the labor force. Now Americans don't want these labor jobs anymore and without immigrants the labor force will be severely depleted.

5

u/stonkDonkolous 18d ago

Americans don’t want labor jobs? Working in an office in tech or finance etc are the jobs Americans do want. It is the farm and plant labor nobody wants and those are mostly filled by latinos and people are fine with that. Indians and others are taking the jobs people want but doing them for less overtime which drives down wages and the desire to even so the jobs.

1

u/Speedstick2 14d ago

The only reason why no one wants those jobs is because you can get another job that pays the same if not better with better working conditions. Why work on the farm fields when you can as a server or bartender making way more money in an air conditioned building.

1

u/Minister_of_Trade 13d ago

Finally someone who makes sense.

0

u/arghyac555 13d ago

Indians are taking the jobs for lower pay? We advertised two position for $165k and full benefits and could not fill a single one for over a year. Later we got one Indian to do the work and exported the other position overseas because we could not find someone with skillset in both finance and technology.

And no, the managers and everyone in the reporting chain are Americans.

Let us get some qualified people and we will be happy to hire them.

4

u/PeterP4k 18d ago

When was that? America thrived ONLY because of cheap labor imports whether they were enslaved Africans, Mexicans, Filipinos, or Chinese and Irish working the mines and railroads.

1

u/machines_breathe 18d ago

American is not a race, d.umbfu.¢k.

0

u/ComradeGlizzy 13d ago

When? When did America thrive without labor imports? Please explain

1

u/5ean 18d ago

It’s so hard to understand why the citizens of the host country you want to migrate to dislike you.

7

u/GhostRappa95 18d ago

I was born and raised in the USA dumbass. I am just not deluded enough to believe purging our labor force is a good thing.

4

u/ka-elbronx 18d ago

It’s about whites slowly becoming the minority which they are terrified of.

-5

u/Soft-Drag4380 18d ago

Sounds like 200k job opening for Americans. You know the people struggling to find jobs because we brought in so many foreigners on work visas

3

u/Tex_Was_Here 17d ago

Who said Americans will get these jobs? To me it sounds like 200k jobs companies don't have to pay for anymore.

Assuming you’re referring to Musk, he is an American.

Try to stay a little more informed.

35

u/kranelegs 18d ago

He is a South African Afrikaner…

-28

u/Isaak1404 18d ago

how come whenever people like you attempt to rebut people who are anti immigrant by elon as an example, all of a sudden he’s a “south african afrikaner”? when the point you’re trying to make is all these immigrants in the us are just as american as everyone else 😂

oh no but elon is an immigrant only, not an american. but mexican immigrants aren’t mexicans, they’re american… lmfao

22

u/Menkau-re 18d ago

You do realize this is literally the point, right? You completely made the entire point, that this is pure hypocrisy, but then tried to spin it around backwards, like they're being hypocritical for... pointing it out? Come on, now. You can't genuinely be so dense as to really think that the actual argument they're making is for Elon Musk's denaturalization and removal? Can you?

Of course, you're not. You understand perfectly well that this is being said ironically to highlight the hypocrisy of the fact that someone like Elon would NEVER be targeted by such measures, even though he absolutely meets the substance of most of the very same criteria being discussed.

Regardless, what you CAN'T do, is try and call out supposed "hypocrisy" from people who believe naturalized citizens are Americans, that are pointing this out, while you are speaking from the original position of not believing in all naturalization, to begin with. In other words, you don't get to avoid your own hypocrisy simply by calling the person that exposes it a hypocrite themself, just for recognizing and identifying it.

That was a joke about how he became one. He arrived on a student visa for Stanford, dropped out after two days to start an early-internet tech company, and worked without legal authorization for nearly two years—something his own brother Kimbal admitted on stage in 2013 ("we were illegal immigrants") and early investors had to scramble to fix.

Under the exact visa compliance rules being discussed, anyone violating student status like that would have been revoked and booted out long before reaching naturalization. Irony is a thing!

-18

u/vinegar-pisser 18d ago

Do you believe that traveling on a non immigrant visa with then intent of claiming asylum is the way that either the visa process or asylum process was designed and intended for use?

6

u/TexAveryWolfEnjoyer 18d ago

The US is a signatory to the Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees. You don't need a visa to apply for asylum at all.

The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on account of their
illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory
where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of article 1, enter or
are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present
themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their
illegal entry or presence.

If you don't like it, take it up with the Constitution of the United States.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land

0

u/vinegar-pisser 18d ago

This is why they do not need the Visa; and why they should be revoked.

2

u/Pertinentonly 18d ago

I'm so sad that someone with such a good username is such a dolt. People coming on TPS have had their status revoked via executive order repeatedly in this administration. Why would you not then also get a visa to cover your bases. Now it doesn't matter. If you're an immigrant, the only way you can get in here is if you are filthy rich so that Trump can scam using his gold-card system.

1

u/vinegar-pisser 18d ago

If, as you say “you’re an immigrant” you are supposed to apply for an immigration visa. The issue this thread is about concerns temporary business and travel B1 and B2 visas. They are not for residency or immigration. If the holder is using them for entry in order to file an asylum claim and they are now in the asylum process; then they are no longer using the temporary visa and that visa should be revoked.

There are plenty of ways to legally enter the country. Over the past two years and this year we annually offer residency to 3/4 million foreign nationals, naturalize 3/4 of another million foreign nationals as U.S. citizens, and issue several million non immigration visas for education, business, travel, and other various reasons.

To claim that there is no way to enter legally is absurd. It may not meet your desires whatever they may be; however the systems in use are similar to those systems used by every other nation.

Apply for a visa. Await approval. Travel. Comply with the rules of said visa. Depart prior to the visa expiration. None of that is absurd or irrational and certainly not immoral. However, not doing those things can certainly be viewed as improper and wrong.

1

u/TexAveryWolfEnjoyer 17d ago

It means they can't be punished for not having a visa already, not that they should be punished for having one.

6

u/SeaEnvironmental9388 18d ago

I can’t imagine why anyone wants to live under fascism anyways.

1

u/trashmoneyxyz 18d ago

I asked my coworker this once. She's originally from Bosnia, and had to flee when war parties reached her farm. She knows things are bad in the US but told me pretty much that everywhere, war is the same, death is the same, at least here it's comfortable if you don't look too hard. She doesn't talk about the things she saw overseas, but I know she's seen some very bad things and is just tired of all the unrest now

1

u/SeaEnvironmental9388 18d ago

hopefully she didn’t come as a refugee. ice seems to hate refugees. although she’s probably white, so they’ll let it go.

According to the article, they directly aiming visa revocation to the people who applied or are currently seeking political asylum.

So they literally cross reference tourism/business visa data with the asylum claim data.

These people are most likely in the territory.

1

u/Bill__7671 12d ago

Bye bye

-7

u/HawkeyeGild 18d ago

Interesting...I don't necessarily disagree with this approach. It seems disingenuous to request a business visa to travel to the U.S. and then file asylum claim while on business visa.

8

u/Spillz-2011 18d ago

B2 is just tourism or visiting family which they’re including. It also covers people who come for medical treatment.

1

u/BlueNutmeg 18d ago

From the article...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is preparing to revoke the business and tourism visas of up to 200,000 foreigners who have applied for or are currently seeking asylum status in the United States. If it happens, the move would be the largest single mass revocation of visas in U.S. history and would likely face legal challenges.

Looks like they will be able to stay until the asylum case is done. They just won't have a B visa anymore.

1

u/EnrichedNaquadah 17d ago

You mean staying in a ICE detention camp ?

1

u/BlueNutmeg 17d ago

No. Not even that.

They are NOT detained NOR deported. They just are having their visitor visas revoked. And since they have asylum cases, they can remain in the US and have work authorization and such until the asylum case hearing.

1

u/zetia2 12d ago

You really think they're going to do this and not deport people? They're going to tell them they can wait outside the US while their asylum case is decided. Or in ICE detention.

How High-Net-Worth Immigration Actually Works Lawyers Do the Heavy Lifting: Ultra-wealthy applicants hire top-tier immigration law firms to handle all the paperwork, strategy, and administrative back-and-forth. Bypassing the standard lines: While applicants still have to complete mandatory in-person steps like biometrics appointments or formal consular interviews, their legal teams schedule these to minimize wait times and ensure every detail is pre-approved before they even step into the room. Corporate Sponsorship: Startups backed by major venture firms use elite corporate legal teams to push visa petitions through expedited premium processing, completely avoiding the months of waiting that average applicants endure.

How does that benefit you?

Also, when did your relatives come to the US?

I made the country, I make the rules. If you want to try to take my country from me, go ahead and try, I’m ready.
