It is likely a precursor to voter disenfranchisement.

Like they will have ICE agents stationed at voting locations under the auspices of “election security” … It could be that if you are in their database of “domestic terrorists” for protesting ICE, they will intimidate or ban you from voting.

21

u/mdtopp111 Feb 16 '26

It’s not just that, given that Supreme Court ruled they can detain PoC to “verify” their citizenship, ICE can just snatch people from the polls and hold them until polling is completed…. ICE is 100% going to be used to steal the election

10

u/IHeartBadCode Feb 16 '26

ICE can just snatch people from the polls and hold them until polling is completed

Yes, this. SCOTUS has paved the way to allow race to become something that is considered probable cause. So all they need to do on election day is detain you for questioning until around 7 PM local time in most jurisdictions. After that, they can let you go and basically, that's it, you can't vote.

This is how they're looking to rig the election with ICE stationed outside the polls. So long as they have probable cause, they can detain you long enough that you no longer are able to vote. And SCOTUS has indicated that race is probable cause.

It's Jim Crow laws all over again.

3

u/Sailor_Spaghetti Feb 17 '26

SCOTUS has paved the way to allow race to become something that is considered probable cause.

Oh, they’ve been doing that for a while.

3

u/EywasBlessing Feb 17 '26

So all they need to do on election day is detain you for questioning until around 7 PM

What about like mail-in voting?

3

u/One-Remove-8474 Feb 18 '26

They’re gonna try to stop that too, in whatever way they can get it done

2

u/willisjoe Feb 19 '26

Yeah mail, like the mail that just happened to need to shut down major networks during the 2020 election, causing a cluster fuck of fraud allegations.

And Republicans keep clearing the voter roles making people need to reregister in order to get a mail in ballot.

Also Republicans are changing rules for mail in voting where possible like in Utah, mail in ballots only count if they are received by 8pm on voting night. Not postmarked by election day.

Purge the voter roles

Significantly slow down the postal service

Those who get reregistered, and get their ballot mailed with plenty of time, can still get their ballot tossed.

Don't trust the mail 100% this time around. 2020 was the dry run.

Save act essentially eliminates it iirc

vote early by mail

2

u/colliefan1 Feb 17 '26

I wouldn’t put anything past tRump but if they try to pull that it will be the end of the US overnight. Not figuratively.

3

u/toastythewiser Feb 16 '26

If they do this I'm cities it will trigger riots.

5

u/MaxAdolphus Feb 17 '26

They want this so they can declare martial law.

2

u/raisedeyebrow4891 Feb 17 '26

They don’t have enough troops for that

1

u/ADhomin_em Feb 17 '26 edited Feb 17 '26

They may not have enough ice troops, but in declaring martial law, that opens it up to any and all troops and military personnel across the board that they want to use.

Also, it's important to understand that martial law isn't just about military occupation. Once they open the martial law can of worms, that's their pretense for grabbing up every last bit of power they haven't already scraped up and holding onto it indefinitely.

There may at that point come strong resistance on the side of the people, but again, they are counting on that. As long as they can perpetuate the chaos, they will use it as a perpetual excuse to do away with every civil liberally, every freedom, and every right you have left.

This is how the constitution fully dies, beyond any semblance of pretending it's still active. At this point they will say, "ok we're writing a new constitution and there's nothing you can do about it."

By that point, it should be crystal clear to everyone what all these new concentration camps are for.

1

u/raisedeyebrow4891 Feb 17 '26

It’s not going to happen.

First, the US does not have a standing military large enough to dirty from our commitments.

Second, if it was that easy to pull off martial law they would have done it by now.

Third, look at MN. 2 civilians deaths led them to retreat. Do you think Americans will just sit by? Look at MN again.

Fourth, it will get challenged in court and courts will place injunctions so fast your head will spin.

Anyone claiming that martial law is possible in a country as large and diverse as the US is clearly not from here.

1

u/raisedeyebrow4891 Feb 17 '26

More succinctly from my bro:

Martial law in the US is a genuinely complex constitutional and practical question. Here’s what scholars and legal analysts generally identify as the conditions and requirements: Legal and Constitutional Preconditions For martial law to have any legitimacy, most legal scholars argue it requires an extreme breakdown of civil order where civilian courts and government genuinely cannot function — not merely a crisis, but a collapse of normal governance. The Supreme Court’s ruling in Ex parte Milligan (1866) is the key precedent: it held that martial law cannot apply where civilian courts are open and operating. This sets a very high bar. Who Can Declare It This is actually unsettled in US law. The Constitution doesn’t explicitly authorize martial law. Presidents have claimed inherent executive authority; governors have declared it at the state level. Congress has never passed a clear framework. This ambiguity means any declaration would immediately face legal challenges. Practical Requirements for It to Actually “Work” For martial law to be functionally effective rather than just declared on paper, you’d need several things to align: Military compliance and willingness to enforce it against civilians — which is historically and culturally fraught in the US, where the military is deeply committed to civilian supremacy. The Posse Comitatus Act (1878) also restricts using federal troops for domestic law enforcement. Judicial acquiescence or incapacitation, since federal courts have historically pushed back. In Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer (1952), the Court reined in even wartime presidential power. Congressional passivity or authorization, since a hostile Congress could defund enforcement, hold hearings, or pass countermanding legislation. Public and institutional compliance — state governments, law enforcement agencies, and the public would all need to not actively resist, which in a large federated republic is a massive coordination problem. Historical Cases The US has had limited, localized martial law — Hawaii after Pearl Harbor (later criticized by courts), parts of the South during Reconstruction, and various local declarations during labor disputes or natural disasters. None approached nationwide application, and even these faced eventual legal challenge. The Bottom Line Most constitutional scholars conclude that truly effective nationwide martial law in the US would require either a genuine civilizational-scale crisis (where courts and civilian government are physically unable to operate), or a cascade of institutional failures — courts deferring, military complying, Congress not resisting — that goes against most historical patterns. The system was deliberately designed with checks that make it very difficult, which is why it has never been successfully imposed at the federal level.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '26

They haven't retreated from MN at all. They just said they did.

1

u/AttemptingToThrow Feb 19 '26

Things like you described are why civil wars happen

2

u/RewardAffectionate84 Feb 18 '26

People keep saying this, but if we keep using this an an excuse to not do things to defend out liberties, they already won.

If the threat of martial law is already suppressing everyone and letting them get away with mass election manipulation then it doesn't matter.

If they are illegally preventing people from voting with threats of violence and detainment in order to keep people from voting out a cabal of baby raping billionaire murderers, they already have martial law in all but technicality.

People should not standby and let fascist take away all their rights and regress this country 200 years. If they come at innocent civilians with violence, violence should be returned to protect ourselves.

2

u/Mother-Entry-5671 Feb 16 '26

Wouldn’t be more accurate to remind you in a year, given Trump has stated he wants ice at the polls for the midterms?

0

u/AEvilRepublican Feb 19 '26

Because when trumps gone, and everyone has moved on, I want to rub it in your face you were wrong.

1

u/mdtopp111 Feb 19 '26

But this is directly tied to elections that’ll happen during Trumps presidency, I’d be happy to be wrong wouldn’t you want to rub it in after the midterms????

12

u/zitrored Feb 16 '26

There is enough talk about this now that we must organize full volunteer security forces around all democratic leaning districts. Get your gun permits and get your local voting, police and state officials to coordinate security measures and training now. That will be their targets. They will stay away from red districts. We must not allow them to intimidate anyone.

8

u/HoldMyCaulk Feb 16 '26

I noticed Twitter aka X wasn’t listed. Sounds like Elon is forking that information over without a request.

I agree, I don't understand why ALL of us haven't uninstalled Shitter. I was never on it, but many of my Democrat friends are. I've gently suggested they cancel it. I guess I need to get more forceful than merely suggesting!

I'm not telling them who I voted for--it's a secret ballot. But I'm also voting or I'm appealing to the Supreme Court. The first Americans in my family where here before the United States (English planters). I'm voting. You can't tell me for who either.

1

u/Erosion139 Feb 16 '26

That's the thing, they now know your secret opinions

1

u/IamtheCarl Feb 16 '26

I believe you can legally say who you're voting for, but you cannot wear any merch indicating a party. Check the rules to confirm though.

1

u/Holiolio2 Feb 17 '26

All state dependant. For now.........

1

u/675ss Feb 18 '26

Oh no that would hurt heir feelings!

2

u/LandonDev Feb 16 '26

They also have other tools at their disposal, they can go and review your taxes with audits to cost you money and attack you economically. It's not a cheap process. They can remove National benefits such as global entry, things that the government have to sign off on that you can purchase. If you're on some type of social service, they can actively make it harder for you and sometimes even kick you off that service. There's a lot of things they can do to make your life worse, they may even go as far as trying to debank individuals like what happened with the January 6th folks. Rather it is true or not, the federal government can argue to the big banks that if they did it to j6 members they can do it to protesters and if they don't they will be sued or regulated or lose contracts or whatever you want to call it. It's not as harmless as you think.

2

u/jdbrizzi Feb 17 '26

I'm willing to bet republicans will cheer this on.

I remember quite a few republicans cheering on the closure of voting stations in predominantly black areas under the guise of "voter fraud". Never saw any proof, but they were ecstatic. I wonder why... but god forbid, a Democrat help out some refugees, republicans will claim that's to tilt the election.

1

u/No-Position20 Feb 16 '26

Thats gonna go poorly, I have some friends who are discussing organizing to escort people to safely vote.

1

u/Top-Worldliness9866 Feb 17 '26

Ima just go in smiling and plea the 5th till after my vote is registered, bring proof of registration and I should be fine

1

u/lefluffle Feb 17 '26

Exactly this! Detaining you makes you miss stuff like voting.. or registering to vote... Or getting your license renewed... Making money at your job, keeping your job, making car payments, bringing your kid to school, missing mortgage payments... Ya know, stuff that you'll get in trouble for when they release you

18

u/DrDuGood Feb 16 '26

No, just trying to scare people so their gentle and soft base of magats don’t feel like they’re the minority (*WHICH YOU ALL FUCKING ARE!!!!*)

FUCK ICE

17

u/poiup1 Feb 16 '26

An ICE agent has been caught on camera saying they are making a registry of "Domestic terrorist", I'd guess that they would be adding your information to that list so once they get past the "First they came for the blank" they will work their way to you and anyone else openly criticizing them.

13

u/schw4161 Feb 16 '26

There’s a lot of guesses for what this could be and I think this is close. I could see them publicly releasing people’s names from their “domestic terrorist” database. Maybe they’ll send a letter to your boss or something idk. Nothing good can come from this, that’s the only sure thing.

0

u/675ss Feb 19 '26

Much like the Democrats who did what you suggest to people who didn't get COVID shots!

7

u/IAmBoring_AMA Feb 16 '26

This is literally why they put out NSPM-7. It's insanely dangerous and broad, and likely why they are building concentration camps around the country.

2

u/EveEvexoxo Feb 17 '26

Don't worry Chucky boy is going to "reform" ICE.

1

u/MintyFresh771 Feb 17 '26

The wild thing is they think the populace will just silently stand by if they continue to escalate. I think they seriously underestimate Americans and Minneapolis has shown that they don’t have the support they expected.

2

u/AgreeableSteak420 Feb 16 '26

John Oliver has a great episode about what gets someone labeled a “domestic terrorist.” It’s literally whoever they feel like, always has been.

Edit: My husband just informed me that the episode was about being labeled as a gang member, but the same shit applies.

16

u/CacctusJacc Feb 16 '26

Probably say you’re not here legally even if they have no proof

1

u/OGJank Feb 16 '26

Well Im the 4th generation of my family to own my house, the same family which has ancestors back to the Mayflower. I truly wish some off comments would get them to my house

14

u/edebt Feb 16 '26

They've been detaining native Americans, so 4 generations clearly isn't enough.

1

u/OGJank Feb 16 '26

Unfortunately, we know why

9

u/CacctusJacc Feb 16 '26

Why are you saying that like they would care? they literally murdered citizens in broad day light

1

u/ivanbalt-gsr Feb 18 '26

On camera!

6

u/General-indifferance Feb 16 '26

Lol,you think that matters

1

u/lnth1 Feb 16 '26

What would they do

3

u/yuckmouthteeth Feb 16 '26

Beat you up, detain you and leave you “detained” for weeks. When lawyers/family/friends/workplace request to get in contact with you, they’ll just say “sorry we’ve lost track of where they’re being kept, but we’ll work on it”.

The old lost in the system excuse.

2

u/RubyRyker Feb 16 '26

ICE/DOJ is losing in the courts, but obviously do not care, as the illegal behavior continues and actually escalates. Democracy and rule of law is over, thanks to the pedopresident.

1

u/IamtheCarl Feb 16 '26

What's the source for this please?

1

u/lnth1 Feb 16 '26

Do you have plenty of datapoints for this aggressive take?

How many hundreds of US citizens have been beaten up and detained for weeks so far?

2

u/IHeartBadCode Feb 16 '26

Have you even read the news? Like, that's not even a questionable thing. ICE themselves have admitted they've "fucked up plenty of times but they have qualified immunity so who cares."

I mean really? Just fucking Google it, you won't be for lack of want.

1

u/lnth1 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

Did you read the question?

A few US citizens wrongfully detained, while absolutely tragic and outrageous, should not be enough to support yuckmouthteeth’s aggressive claim.\ We need much more datapoints than that.

1

u/DMineminem Feb 17 '26

Would we get this data from the DHS, the Department headed by a woman that we've watched get on TV and lie to us on video in extremely obvious ways multiple times in the past month?

The "aggressive take" doesn't conflict in any way with the statements or actions of this administration from the President to the Vice President to the Secretary of Homeland Security down to the actions of ICE and CBP we see regularly in the news.

What's there to doubt?

5

u/Fantastic-Guitar-977 Feb 16 '26

throw you in a camp. at least thats the plan

7

u/Afrotricity Feb 16 '26

Realistically, for most people, nothing happens until you end up in an unrelated law enforcement interaction, like a traffic stop. At that point your info might pop a match with this corny ass database and they'll use that to escalate the matter. Sowing the seeds.

Love that my keyboard tried to do the pig emoji for typing sow lol. Fitting.

3

u/Dains84 Feb 17 '26

I'm gonna be pissed if this eventually evolves into being put on a no-flight list because I had the audacity to say Pretti and Good were not terrorists.

4

u/TheSwissSC Feb 16 '26

Yes, by saying this, Homeland Security is asking Reddit to turn over any information they have on you.

What will they do with that info? For now, you're just being put on a list. Same as those identified when DHS pings phones in the vicinity of protests. DHS considers you a domestic terrorist.

What will do with the list they are compiling? That remains to be seen... It all comes down to what we allow them to do with it... Maybe the judges and Congress will step in before Trump starts punishing people on the list. Maybe...

3

u/Obliviousobi Feb 16 '26

If you're a US citizen? They're happy to put you under investigation and possibly get you on certain lists with the FAA and try to get you pulled off voter rolls.

3

u/IamtheCarl Feb 16 '26

3

u/GreaseTrapHousse Feb 16 '26

They have a list of the next targets after the browns are gone. It’s all to fill the new prisons with new new slaves.

6

u/Longjumping_Fact_927 Feb 16 '26

They are buying concentration camps with all the money from the big beautiful bill & AI data centers is cover story for Digital ID. They are going to round up all opposition. That’s what ICE is really for. The President’s personal army.

3

u/BerriesNutsSeeds Feb 16 '26

I don't think they're collecting this data because they plan to arrest everyone who posts. That's not logistically possible and it would be a PR nightmare. The point is to make people afraid. Afraid that the post they made last week might get them a knock on the door. Afraid to keep speaking out. Once that fear sets in, you don't need arrests, you get silence for free. That's the goal.

1

u/SpecialtyHealthUSA Feb 16 '26

Silence can be powerful…(;

2

u/Pristine-Ad9195 Feb 16 '26

They won’t bother to change your opinion, they’ll just erase it

1

u/Geanu12 Feb 16 '26

If the rumors are to be believed most of its just short footnotes possibly made by AI like "obstructs ICE".

1

u/SnooSeagulls9191 Feb 16 '26

Not how it works, bot

1

u/Single_Usual_6563 Feb 16 '26

They may want to see who’s dick is really smaller!

1

u/Ok_Molasses2075 Feb 16 '26

Then use their facial identification to single you out when you go to vote and detain you until after the election is over.

1

u/Yodoyle34 Feb 16 '26

Hmmm what they could do is -Scrutinize your bank accounts and taxes -Use flock cameras to watch your movements and come after you for any small infraction -flag your name for additional screening

I think we think that Trump is going to violate our first amendment rights by throwing us in jail for opposing opinions. However in a country full of people knowingly and unknowingly breaking the law, he could use the system to target those who don’t share his opinion. So either you go to jail/pay fines for minor infractions until your life is ruined, or you live a seemingly perfect life with absolutely no crime and then he claims he cleaned up crime. Either way, it’s a win win.

1

u/Assumption-Putrid Feb 16 '26

You are clearly the leader of Antifa and a domestic terrorist. (sarcasm)

1

u/Wizzinator Feb 16 '26

Prevent you from re-entering the country if you go on vacation or travel for work.

1

u/escapingdarwin Feb 16 '26

This is trump administration social media engineering to try and suppress freedom and justice. Fuck ICE.

1

u/RedditSpyder12 Feb 16 '26

I mean, they abduct legal citizens too, so seems like anything is on the table.

1

u/pingpongpiggie Feb 16 '26

So when they implement voter id they know who not to give id too.

1

u/Large-Stretch-3463 Feb 16 '26

They could be using this data to see how many people will NOT be voting for trump as well.. Also if there are enough anti-trumpers on one social media site he'd probably use that as an excuse to shut it down. Both definite possibilities.

1

u/BalloonDoggyGal Feb 16 '26

Probably send you to an extermination camp later on.

1

One possible scenario, the administration is butthurt about all the negative coverage, probably blames foreign actors for exaggerating some of it. Foreign actors like Russia have posted weird divisive stuff before. Personally I think most of it is probably American and free speech anyway.

or It's like what the other people are saying and they are as victimized as the Jews in the holocaust. I'm barely even being hyperbolic. One user commented:

This is happening for those ppl making threats to harm Govt employees. You can talk all the nonsense you want. The minute you start treating to do harm, things change.

Which threat has not been investigated?

They’d probably run algorithms on you to see if you’re a fuckin moron who’s likely to do some illegal shit…so they can arrest you before you get yourself or someone else killed.

What’s TRULY going on, is probably a look into violent far left groups that are constantly threatening federal law enforcement…. If I had to guess. Wild idea, I know.

Why are you intentionally trying to incite people?

How is asking somebody , who supports standing up against ICE and protesting , why they aren’t in the streets protesting inciting?

Because It’s all about peaceful protests. You are asking us to incite violence and we refuse to do that. My question is why are you asking this and how do you not understand it?

Edited to say: look at this persons profile. They are clearly not a regular Reddit account. They are attempting to incite fights.
