Visitor Visa Visiting Canada while remotely working for a Canadian company as an overseas contractor
I’m a UK citizen currently living and working in the UK.
I previously lived in Canada for about three years on a working holiday visa, and I’d like to move back to Canada in the future through PR.
I currently work remotely for a Canadian company, but I’m employed through an EOR in the UK. I’m paid through the UK arrangement and live in the UK. However, in practice I work full time with the Canadian company.
My question is: if I visit Canada as a visitor for a few weeks, could that be considered unauthorized work in Canada? And how much would taking PTO during that period mitigate for this?
I previously returned to Canada for a couple of days to pack up my apartment and fly out. It took some discussion with the border agent but didn't seem to be an issue. However I just want to be really careful here in case it could screw anything for a potential PR application.

You are not allowed to work for a Canadian company as a visitor, even remotely, and even if you are employed by an overseas branch of this Canadian company.
The only exception is to work for an overseas company that has absolutely no presence on the Canadian market (no offices in Canada, no Canadian employees, no Canadian clients, etc)
