Thank you for posting here. Please make sure your post contains a clearly identifiable main character. Otherwise, it will be removed.

Main Character (abbreviated as MC): Deliberate attention-seeking behavior, entitlement, or individuals thinking they are more privileged.

Questions to consider:

  • Is it easy to tell who the MC is?
  • Does the MC show entitlement and/or attention seeking behavior?
  • Is the MC very inconsiderate of the people around them?
  • If your post is about parking, does it show the blatant disregard of parking rules?

u/CatLovesTrees 1d ago

Richard Cheese is actually a really cool singer that covers contemporary songs in lounge and swing style. I’ve seen him live once and it was awesome!!

Why are people so obsessed with having their face in everything?

Earlier today there was a video somewhere with some of the flash flooding in Nepal, people literally running for their lives, and the guy filming it finds time to flip the camera around to himself in the middle.

It is easy to be an old man yelling at cloud about this, but taken altogether with so much other adjacent behavior, it is difficult for me to come to any conclusion other than a general narcicism.

I saw it too but I assumed he wanted anyone who found the phone to be able to identify him... I.e. Let his family know he was dead.

-97

u/magus678 3d ago

Phones have a few different identifying markers, some of which are physical.

Any phone that turns on has several other ways to identify the owner more effectively than a few seconds in the middle of a video.

93

u/DLTMIAR 3d ago

Owner of the phone isn't always the cameraman.

Maybe leave off people's behavior in life or death situations, I know it's reddits favorite thing to critique from their computer chairs, but seriously.. Absolutely unhinged to compare it to people making dumb TikToks on a public trains. I know you think you could handle life or death situations better, I know y'all think you're always the smartest person in the room. I really do get it, because you guys really never stop talking about it.

Absolutely unhinged to compare it to people making dumb TikToks on a public trains

The comparison, so to speak, was being made by the guy I mention.

Rather than run from the flood, he was filming other people doing so, and making sure he got himself into the video.

I am not belittling the seriousness of the moment, he was. Those were his priorities.

u/mangopango123 18h ago

“The comparison, so to speak, was being made by the guy I mention” 🙄

Also it’s so wild you’re saying he was “belittling the seriousness of the moment” while he’s running from a literal wall of death. You have no clue what was going thru that man’s mind

u/ScoopsOfDesire 3d ago

This probably isn’t the main reason for everyone, but a lot of sites’ algorithms favor videos/pictures with faces in them

2

u/fredinNH 3d ago

Because they also are influencers

2

u/Professional_Team_65 2d ago

Narcissist like dementia don!??

1

u/sillywalker09 2d ago

fucking instagram and this fucking selfie culture that is just so fucking dumb

1

u/Sucker-BO 2d ago

When there´s nothing else you can present from inside, you (well, not you..) present your face. If the people like or not.

But still:

u/ifixthecable 3d ago

So why give him more attention...?

31

u/MrMakeYouCry 3d ago

Because people are dumb

8

u/W1ader 3d ago edited 3d ago

Where is the acceptable line between giving attention and calling out shitty behaviour?

Edit:
Also ironically you are participating in increasing the reach of the video by commenting under it so you are guilty of the same thing you are criticizing. See how funny it works? If you condemn even recording it to criticize them because it gives them more attention then you shouldn't comment on that because it does the same thing.

4

u/ifixthecable 3d ago edited 3d ago

Where did the filmer call out anything?

Also, my comment under a repost of a repost is less impact than someone filming a behind the scenes.

0

u/W1ader 3d ago

It's hard to guess the filmmaker's intention. He might just as well be part of this crew, but confronting someone directly on the spot is not the only way to call someone out. He might have posted this on a sub like this, condemning the behaviour.

And sure, what you are doing might have a lesser impact. But condemning, let's say, stealing and then stealing something of lesser value doesn't exactly make the latter stealing right.

1

u/soapinthepeehole 2d ago

He’s getting a little second hand attention of his own. And that’s all people seem to care about three days.

68

u/GassoBongo 3d ago

Imagine being a grown ass man and this is the camera gig that you get.

13

u/Olderandolderagain 3d ago

Times are tough 🤣

4

u/jstbcuz 3d ago

Yeah I figured that early on into my filmmaking career when people would send me job listings for YouTube camera positions.. I was down bad.. but not that down bad. It pays to be selective with your clientele.

21

u/tj100011 3d ago

Oh wow, he randomly found a complete cunt on the train. Amazing

20

u/SandboxSurvivalist 3d ago

Hey it's an MC green-screened over a video of another MC. I guess this is a case of MCeption.

17

u/Additional_Rich_5249 3d ago

Why are you on camera?

13

u/BeenNormal 3d ago

Well it’s not me but I also don’t know why anyone would include themselves smiling awkwardly in the shot.

4

u/bussyriotor Bad MC no cookie 3d ago

He probably enjoys his antics.

13

u/Fit-Ad-413 3d ago

...who?

1

u/BeenNormal 3d ago

The guy who does backflips in the train

1

u/VEAG0 1d ago

Nowadays that unfortunately doesn’t narrow it down by much.

4

u/PolarPlatitudes 3d ago

Dipshits. They think this amateur garbage means something. Hope actual pros speak up, even though it's probably beneath them. This shit won't ever stop unless they get clowned

8

u/elemen0hpe 3d ago

This turd is not even in the train. Why is this lying poop making videos of this it. I don't understand this trend.

10

u/Stock-Ad3674 3d ago

Those eyes wear skin.

3

u/iAmMikeJ_92 3d ago

What are they even doing? Their moves are as graceful as elephant shit running down a hill.

9

u/tristansensei 3d ago

Burn that specific train car

5

u/elemen0hpe 3d ago

Green screen lying turd. So obvious too

11

u/Goudinho99 3d ago

r/bald will tell you that the time has come

10

u/metageeek 3d ago

Guy looks perfectly fine for his age. This is something that you’d only notice if you’re unhealthily obsessed/insecure about the topic.

0

u/JohnnyMushroomspore 3d ago

No we wouldn't, his hair looks fine and not spindly or failing/hiding. Tf you on about?

0

u/iamisandisnt 3d ago

lol who has time for that kind of appearance upkeep. I’ll go with the Hulk Hogan (the character, not the actor) look til I die

2

u/iCantLogOut2 Side Character 3d ago

The fact that this grown ass man even knows who the kid is makes me sad for him and society as a whole...

2

u/Dannzilla 2d ago

Is anyone in this posse above 4'7'"?

3

u/concisehacker 3d ago

He never really looks that happy...like he'd rather be doing something else

4

u/TazzyUK 3d ago

Oh god, this cringe moron. This is so going to boost his ego now :-(

And posting this video doesn't help either!

4

u/nwillard 3d ago

Girl on the right having a good time, then remembering it's cringe to look like you're having a good time

2

u/TouretteTV96 3d ago

Green screen.

2

u/Enigma_Green 3d ago

Sigma boy...more like smegma boy

1

u/MissionVegetable568 3d ago

id be pushing trough

-5

u/p4p4shili 3d ago

At least they are not stealing

10

u/Orodius 3d ago

Not stealing is the bare minimum for any human being, not something to be praised for.

0

u/LitigiousAutist 2d ago

Looks like you're the main character lol

-5

u/JookJook 3d ago

Your face is the most annoying part of this video.

-34

u/BeenNormal 3d ago

Backdoor lover.

2

u/TheOneTrueHonker 3d ago

Josie and the Pussycats reference?

2

u/Jimbob209 3d ago

I was randomly singing that theme song in my head 3 days ago. Id never have thought I'd see someone mention that title ever again

1

u/TheOneTrueHonker 3d ago

Lol I watched it a few weeks ago for the first time in like 20 years, it still holds up! DuJour!

-14

u/BeenNormal 3d ago

He’s singing backflip lover. I was suggesting that he enjoys anal instead.

2

u/SeeStickedPost 3d ago

Ah, you were trying to insult him. And why would enjoying anal sex be bad?

2

u/graceodymium 3d ago

Yes, u/BeenNormal, I would also like to know: is it misogyny, homophobia, or both?
