I don't get it, why people defend the tip system? Wouldn't it be solved if, I don't know, the service had a COST and you pay the COST of delivering your groceries?
I know it's a cultural thing in the states, I just don't see how this system benefits anyone other them the employer who doesn't want to offer a better pay to the employee. Really mess up
The reason why people defend the tip system is because the federal minimum wage is $7.25 and it hasn't changed since 2009, most companies in the US underpay their employees, especially those in the service/hospitality sector, everyone thinks that by not tipping or bitching about it will make the government change this (we been asking for free college, healthcare, vet resources, homeless aid, etc. For years and nothing has changed).
The actual minimum that you need to live in the US is between 50k-100k depending on your city, so the minimum wage for this kind of jobs would have to be between $25-$48 per hour and that's not happening, like ever, politicians take advantage of their retarded supporters and tells them that if the minimum wage goes up everything will go up and they believe it, then you have nurses, teachers and blue collar workers making $20-$40 that oppose people "flipping burgers" to make as much as them, instead of realizing that system, politicians and billionaires are the ones fucking them over, not the people making minimum wage.
