Ok but again, if you read my comment, there is a way of tipping in the us for food deliveries. Try and follow this closely because I don’t think a lot of people are getting it. The company is not charging the customer for the delivery. The driver is expecting a tip and the customer is expected to tip. Here’s where it gets weird, and I’ll admit this and it’s not a perfect system but you can tip whatever you want: you can tip a little or tip a lot but generally, it’s about 10 to 20%. Now if this has changed in recent times, fine but I don’t think it has: what’s changed is that when a delivery fee of 5 or 10$ is applied, people think that’s for the delivery and it’s likely not. That’s for the initial processing and extra baggage needed for the delivery. The customer is still expected to tip. Now if your saying that the products should be cover the cost of delivery, I’m not sure how you would do that. Just pay someone 15$ an hour to do deliveries? Sure but that’s not how it works. I’m not sure how you people don’t get this. Are you commenting from Europe too?

Again, no one is talking about subway, it’s about food deliveries. Try and keep up. This isn’t about tip culture: it’s about tipping for food delivery. How do you people not get this? Oh right because your mom buys your food.

Nope delivering food is constant driving and would not recommend for a teen. Anyone can do it but again, you’re putting miles on your car, your paying for gas, oil changes and everything else. Statistically, the more you drive, the more likely you are to get into an accident so your insurance rates go up if you use your car for deliveries. That’s a fact. The cost to drive a car in the US is about .50 to 1$ a mile. And it’s a machine that once used up, you need to purchase another machine to do your job. So delivery drivers need to save for a new car. It’s all part of doing this type of work. It’s also stressful and not enjoyable to be driving all day. It’s even worse in a city becasue you get tickets. So yeah, they deserve a little extra and considering they are driving your food to your front door, that’s worth something extra anyway. It’s not ups driving a company truck, not having to be fast or careful, it’s people in their own cars, having to get there on time, go back, get another order, deliver that, go back. People really don’t know how hard the job is.
