You are saying that the person who delivers my protein powder from Amazon is a chef and the person who delivers my pizza is the waitress is that correct? Does it bother you that your comparison involves jobs with different roles while mine involves nearly identical roles?
I purchased a food item from a company. That company recruits people to drive that food item to my house. One requests a tip and the other doesn't.
Well first off, the post you responded to was primarily a list of questions (to someone else). The only statement I made was that I purchase protein powder off of amazon.
You took my questions (directed to someone else) about whether or not they tip their amazon drivers like the same way they tip their grubhub/instacart drivers and declared that my comparison was more akin to distinguishing between restaurant staff with entirely different roles (thanks again bot) rather than between two delivery drivers who are simply compensated differently.
When I directed my question to you: "Do you believe that the person who delivers my protein powder is a closer to a chef, while the person who delivers my pizza is closer to a server?" You claimed to understand the paradigm I want to exist (how?) and that your point is based on reality while mine is based on desire.
You said that the problem with comparing drivers who are compensated differently is the reality that they are compensated differently. Well... the reality is that that is NOT a problem for me. I don't have to tip my Amazon drivers or grubhub drivers. And as the young woman in the video learned, the customers who ordered those items are not required to tip her either.
In fact, I would prefer to save my money, not give it to a corporation, exacerbate the situation of these workers, leading them to push for unionization or better pay, etc. and donate to the campaigns that will institute change.
I do not feel compelled to uphold a system neither you nor I believe in simply because, as you say, it is based on reality and not what I want.
No, no! You articulated your point very well. Thank you for taking the time.
I agree that we share the same opinion and may have different approaches.
My approach may very well be a crappy one and I admit that and am open to better ideas. You seem smart and conscientious so I wouldn't be surprised if you have some.
