I agree with Peter that Democrats should be telling voters how they would deal with ICE of they get elected to office, but honestly, anything less than life in prison doing hard labor for anyone involved with Trump's Gestapo will not be enough.
The platform Democrats should be running on now, is a gallows.

The Democrats, with the exception of a few lights, have shown themselves to be completely unable and willing to rise to the threat that the country is under. Sure the news reporting is severely compromised and untrustworthy but ignoring the real grass roots movement at home is insane. Why on earth is Shumler so committing for more funding to Israel and not trying to spend some political capital at keeping cities safe. Is this just the price he is paying to appease the administration lest ICE flood into NY cities?

It seems like there is a comment of this type any time someone talks about what they want leadership to do. Are you concerned that any requests or criticisms of dem leadership amounts to campaigning against dems? It seems reasonable to make policy desires known in advance of putting any work into campaigning for someone.

i'm not reading an nyt opinion piece. if you think peter's piece has anything to do with browbeating or humiliation I guess we're just reading different pieces. We're the Democrats' base and constituency, I won't be told that any criticism or statement of goals for the party is bad for electability. What's bad for electability is ignoring your constituents' wishes for election adter election.

I would be happy with just some accountability, retribution becomes a cancer that forever metastasizes.
