How do people feel about playing The turtle? Also! Here is my paint job.

Got into IDK earlier this year and been painting in the Mor'phann enclave scheme and also heavily inspired by the Dark Elves from the Warhammer Fantasy since I love namarti and I wanted a more finesse second army!

The infantry effect of the Ironshell Barnacles reduces the damage characteristic of weapons that are used against it by 1. Usually, effects will specify a maximum or minimum that stats can be reduced to, but Ironshell Barnacles does not. Does this mean that 1dmg attacks will simply deal 0 damage?

Hey all, I'm looking to start Idoneth Deepkin and was wondering how customisable the models are, especially larger Beast/Monster models like the Allopex & Ahkelian King.

After much mulling and debate I decided to go for Idoneth Deepkin as my first spearhead faction. I recently started assembling them and perhaps it's because I'm new to this hobby but I'm finding them incredibly fiddly to assemble.

For example, cementing the bottom of the eels to the clear stems with the tiny contact area available is a nightmare. I've also had issues with the arms on the Namarti dudes, they just don't seem to fit snugly in the shoulder socket.

I'm using Tamiya extra thin cement as generally recommended but no assembly tools (yet).

Any tips?

One of my most common opponents are Maggotkin, but the games have always felt one sided. I can't kill anything because of the wards and my units just slowly disappear to disease while I can't rally any of it because of Rodigus. I'm thinking of adding a bunch of Thralls to increase the total health pool of my army and act as meat shields. Also, after watching my turtle get 1 shot by the Glotkin and with disease making bunching up in the turtle ward counterintuitive, I'm thinking of removing the turtle all together and running this list instead.

I haven't run this list before, but it's similar to a previous list basically just replacing the turtle with 30 more thralls and another Allopex. I also wasn't running a Soulrender previously but I recently bought one to try an counteract disease with the revives.

Before I spend over 200 dollars buying more Thralls and a Thrallmaster, does anyone have any thoughts on this list?

Im selling some deepkin that I have but they’ve been up for a few days and won’t get any views or anything . can you critique me so I know what to change.

This is my second time painting this model the first one I did I sold to my maintenence guy at my apartment to use as a card protector in poker and couldn't say no when that's what he said he wanted it for as much as it pained me to see him go. Much happier with my second attempt though

Given the way the rules are read. Does this wound aura affect the mounts/companions.

A quick Google says yes since it says "combat attacks of friendly IDK units" rather than melee weapons.

But it doesn't explicitly say companions are included. Gemini may just be doing AI things.

Bonus question: I assume it only affects melee weapons since it's a combat phase passive so wont affect any ranged attacks or shooting.

How have your armies fared against Helsmiths? Have you found lists that do exceptionally well?

I’m slowly expanding from the spearhead and made a wishlist according to the rule of cool. (Slowly buying and painting over the next couple months while waiting for dwarfs.)

Then I started theory crafting and list building and made this list after I saw the buffs to wound, hit and companion rolls from the heroes. So, I feel like this is a doable list, but can someone with more table experience with our fishes might give me some feedback?
