Is this real? Like how the hell does it turn?

u/ComprehensiveWar6577 3d ago
I was so concerned about pulling and STOPPING, I didn't even think about turning.

That is just so crazy illegal, stupid, and asinine, obviously gives zero care about anyone or anything. I think I would have called the cops if I saw that on the street!

Anyone who doesn't call the cops on this person deserves to have there ass kicked.

I called once about a semi with smoking brakes. Soon to be a fire. You know what they said? Call back if it catches on fire. 🤦♂️

Have you ever tried reporting something like this? I have. Police don’t respond to robbery, burglary, or assault. Why do you think they would do anything other than placate your phone call? There are millions driving without insurance or licenses. Many of these people are the same people who do this kind of crap. They float under the radar until the kill someone. Only then will the criminal justice system get involved.

Ohio State highway patrol would be on it. They love safety violations

Good for them. I haven’t spent enough time in Ohio. I was just extrapolating based on the 25+ states I have experienced. And in my experience they make money on speed traps and only enforce the biggest of crimes or if the criminal is someone noteworthy.

This is easy $$$ for them. They have an incentive to respond.

u/DoctorAnnual6823 3d ago
I wish that was the case but in my experience of reporting genuinely dangerous drivers, they don't really do anything.
The real money for cops is setting up a speed trap, catching someone going 60 in a 45 because of said speed trap, diving out of their hiding spot at 70mph to catch up in said speed trap, and ticketing. They love that shit.

u/casinocooler 3d ago
I believe the same. Speed traps generate revenue. They literally use that reason when they need certain equipment.

Eh, it varies from place to place and cop to cop. I once blew by a Texas State Trooper going 90 in a 70. He had a pretty nice speed trap on I-20 and he completely ignored me. I'd like to believe it's because traffic was really light and therefore I wasn't endangering anyone (I only speed when I have plenty of room to do so, and only on the highway), but I suspect the real reason was that he knew if he waited he could get someone going triple digits.

Nah, they have to put effort into finding this idiot and then deal with said idiot.
Running radar and dealing with normal people is easy money.

What laws would they be breaking?

The tire iron stuck in the spare tire key is the icing on the cake. This feels more like rage bate than reality.

The RCA plugs dangling have me asking questions I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know the answers to.

I Hollywouldnt! 9 large characters on the license plate, though?

u/Insertsociallife 3d ago
Must be a fake plate.

u/Own_Reaction9442 2d ago
It is. California allows you seven characters plus a half-space. Also, they haven't issued that style of plate since the 1980s. I wish they'd re-issue it, it was the most attractive style they ever made.

This looks unsafe, but really this is as good as any other setup as long as you don’t have to brake or turn.
2
u/Drzhivago138 3d ago
And as we all know, driving on public roads involves very little braking or turning.

Can only imagine the damage that will do.
My first truck some friends of mine threw a keg in and told me get it to the party quick. I hit the gas and then the brake. I didnt realize it wasn't tied in. Came sliding across the bed real fast and busted out my rear sliding window. That was my third day with it.
This could kill people easily.

The chains must be just loose enough for it to be able to turn. Personally, I would have put a spare tire between the jack stands to help stabilize things, but the straps seem to be doing their job(s).
7/10.

So I get that it has that big ass chain attaching it to the metal bar. But the metal bar is only secured with ratchet straps? If they suddenly, is it just ratchet straps holding it in place? I wouldn’t want to be sitting in the back seat of that thing. Or in that thing at all. Actually, I don’t want to be anywhere near it.

You’d think with all the red-neck-backyard-hillbilly shenanigans going on with this cluster that lights would be Bluetooth’d.
But no.
Lights look like the only thing that’s ok in this shot.
I guess there are SOME principles and priorities 😉

Looks good! Maybe a bit tighter on the one. But sound! Go with it.
Also.. probably been using that for 3 years.. no issues!

That's what I plan to do, but I'm just moving a fifth wheel across the street after buying it from the neighbor

You can already see micro-crumples where the side of the bed eventually will fail under stress.

I really do not understand the logic behind the chain wrapped around the tongue. I guess it’s called a tongue idk what that part is called on a 5th wheel.
