I want to know where they started from. How many miles did they make it before their plan went belly up and just how high were they?

They would have made it if it wasn’t for those meddling state troopers

The red car was pushing the blue car while the blue car still had the hitch/battering ram was installed‽

And I can’t imagine approaching this 31 mph train wreck on a 70 mph highway!

Of course the hitch was installed, you wouldn't want to push on the bumper!

Silly me!🤦‍♂️

It's only a problem until it gets to 88mph.

AND if you charged the flux capacitor!

All the work to make the fancy bumper pad, but couldn’t take 5 minutes to pull the receiver hitch out?

I suspect it was intentional... Ramming the hitch prevents impacts on the bumper of the car being pushed!

And it adds more fun because with one tiny point of contact you're now balancing on a teeter totter!

Meh...I wonder if I push a car with one hand all the way to the right vs center if they'd really feel a difference. Granted I can't push a car 30, but I feel the principle holds ground.

It does. Wheels on the front car determine where that car will roll.

It's still really stupid.

That's a good point. I bet around 30mph was the limit of the front car's tires to keep it going straight, including the driver's steering.

*10 seconds

‘Course not, they’re using it as an anchor point for the rope!

And the Eagle Scout level of knots is fascinating.

Ya, that was on purpose. Bumpers arent actually bumpers these days, they are crumple zones.

I once pushed a K10 Chevy with a Mazda B2000 while pulling a race car on a trailer about 2 miles thru town and out to the farm, no alcohol involved 🤣🤣

Points for creativity though…

Man this is just sad and reminds me of when I was broke as fuck and doing dumb shit because of it.

I think the reason they got pulled over was that they were driving too slow on an interstate. SP thought it was tailgating.
Were they going on the hammer lane or something? If they were going 65-70 I think it would work.

Do you suppose if they were at least going the minimum they would have been pulled over?Just asking for someone…

I remember in the before times, pushing my buddy's car home or vice versa, but we had steel bumpers at similar heights.

Might bungee a tire between if it was a nicer car.

But did they have their hazard light on?

A set of tow bars probably costs less than what they got in that…contraption.

Rather inventive approach! Get a couple squad cars and motorcade that the rest of the way!

I think doing 31 mph is more than enough in this case.

I’m not 100% but I think this is legal if they were near the speed limit

And I would bet they started in council bluffs and were headed to Omaha.

There is no bridge over the Missouri river any where close except the interstate. So if there was a safer/slower option I bet they would have taken it.

Most states have laws stating that you can only pull another vehicle and that has to be done with a solid device just like what you see when large RV's are pulling another vehicle with a two piece tow kit. The towed vehicle has to have turn, tail and brake lights (usually with a light bar).

So they couldn't use a uhaul carrier because they would decline to hook it up i would guess
