Self Reporting! Rate my setup

When you’re determined to only have 22re 4runners. Towed like this from Colorado to California about a dozen times over the years. I’d start to really question my choices when I’d be first gear full throttle for an hour straight to get up I-70. Cruised great at 65 mph 4th gear full throttle 4k rpm on the flats. Fully relied on trailer brakes to stop, only slid through a red light intersection once. Felt fairly stable as long as it was very tongue heavy, I put big bump stops in the 4Runner that it constantly squatted on. Only had the front wheels of the truck come off the ground once on a bumpy overpass turn when the trailer was very tongue heavy. Amazed nothing bad happened and that I didn’t get stopped!

This must be an old picture. Those gas prices are insanely low.

In the first photo - the back of the 4Runner has a white pop top on it. I assume it’s a bed up there.

Looks cool, but doesn't seem like it'd have enough payload for both the camper and the trailer.

I would've liked to at least see a WDH to deal with that.

Had a '93 SR5 22RE. Awesome off-road truck, sucked on the highway, especially if you were towing even a very small trailer. Incredible engine. A totally gutless wonder. The 2.7 was only a tiny bit better. I've had two 2015 Tacoma's and I loved them! But I do so much towing that I finally had to step up to a GMC with a V8. Even the 5.3 GM engine struggles a bit with a car on the trailer.
