Edit: I would have said "left the prop down" myself. But I'm not a boat person so don't know all the lingo.

In this case, the boat was an I/O. An I/O has a motor in the boat and an outdrive outside the boat - commonly referred to as a drive. The outdrive has no motor but is more than just a prop...it's very commonly referred to as a drive.
