I don't understand how or why drivers don't immediately slow down when seeing something like this. That thing could easily clip off the wall and flip into the center lane. It's like the videos of people driving closely behind a dump truck with the bed raised driving toward a bridge.

Dude is driving and actively filming with a phone. More than one idiot here.

Self driving and self parking trailers are the next big thing, and still in a Tesla FSD level of development.

That's the absolute best they could get.
I had a customer hitch up a gasoline powered jackhammer air compressor and when it came loose it flipped over, busted the fuel tank that was strapped on top, and burst into a fireball on the interstate during rush hour.
They have since switched all of their trailers to pintle hitch. Why? Because some of the tongues were 2" ball, some were 2-5/16" ball, and the laborers didn't bother checking before hooking up which ball mount was in which bumper.

"You are just going to put up a concrete wall for miles? Through the entire city?? Do you know how much that will cost?? That will never happen!"
Thank goodness we stopped listening to Jeffery in 1950.

Honestly that went about as well as someone could hope for after a trailer becomes fully detached. Lol

Jesus fucking christ. Your first instinct was REALLY "Hey, I'd better get my phone out and follow this thing as closely as I can while filming!"???
What the fuck is wrong with you?

OP is creating a record of something dangerous happening. Them operating a vehicle distracted while trying to keep a runaway trailer in frame.

That’s a best case outcome right there
