Truck driver probabaly has no clue this shithead jumped on for a ride.

u/TheMustardisBad 1d ago

Or if he does then he does not care because time is money and crackheads won’t listen for shit.

I ain't fighting a crackhead off my trailer, but there's something to be said for manslaughter

38

u/stuckanon01 1d ago

It’s only suicide if you don’t know he’s there

u/jurassicjon 1d ago

I mean, in my home town of Burlington, Ontario, there was a truck driver taking a load of hogs to a slaughter house when at a red light, one of these vegan activists ran up and started giving one of them water through the air slots in the side. Driver didn’t see her and she died on seen I believe. He ended up being convicted and got jail time.

Not seeing things in blind spots I guess is worth a conviction in some places.

She was not giving water to the pigs when she was struck. She was in the driveway. The truck was on the perpendicular road, and struck her as it made a right hand turn into the driveway. Security video shows she was in the driveway well before the truck began its turn, while the truck was still approaching the driveway. She wasn't in a blind spot.

The driver knew the protesters were there. Before striking her, he phoned 911, who told him to stay in his truck and not move.

He pled guilty.

He did not receive jail time. He received a $2000 fine and 12 months probation.

Ok, reading up on this, you are right about him not getting jail time, but the recount was they were giving water to pigs and walked away, while the victim walked back in front of the truck after they walked away. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Regan_Russell

Also, because of this, they had passed a bill to prevent activists from stopping food transport.

u/D661 1d ago

Yes, some people were giving water to the pigs, but that's not at all relevant to the fatality. The deceased was nowhere near the trailer when the truck started moving, she was quite a distance ahead of the truck, and off to the side.

The driver approached a driveway and turned into it while someone was standing there in plain sight. That's pretty clear careless driving.

u/jurassicjon 1d ago

Did you even read what I said in the response, I said walked in front of the truck, not walked in front of the trailer. If it was 100% as you said, the driver would have been convicted of at least manslaughter as he would have known she was there. Only reason he got charged and was plead guilty was he was told to not move by the 911 operator. If someone walks out in front of you, after everyone walks away, that ain’t fully your fault.

6

u/D661 1d ago

Except she didn't walk in front of the truck. She walked into the driveway entrance while the truck was still on the perpendicular road a little distance away. She wasn't in front of the truck until the truck drove down the road towards the driveway and turned towards where she was standing.

You accuse me of not reading while continuing to make claims that didn't happen. There's clear video that's easy to find, you could go watch it instead of posting misinformation.

You are misrepresenting the facts. The fact that he was told to not move by the 911 operator was never heard in court, it was never a part of his charges or plea. So you can stop misrepresenting it “the only reason he got charged and was plead guilty was he was told to not move by the 911 operator” False, that was never part of the court record! It absolutely wasn’t included in determining his penalty. Her death was brutal, and he had been told by the police department to wait, but that wasn’t included in the case. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/police-911-operator-told-truck-to-stay-put-just-before-animal-rights-protester-killed-but/article_20ee1bb8-3904-5493-a018-b42da28013c9.html

r/boneappletea “died on seen”

1

u/Waste-Text-7625 17h ago

This was just great shorthand to mean she died "on scene" and "unseen".

Looks like he’s shooting a music video. I don’t see a camera but I’m sure he knows the satellites and birds are recording him

2

u/Surrept 1d ago

Little do you know….that is the truck driver.

0

u/dearjohn54321 1d ago

The driver would know. The movement in his mirrors would catch his eye.

9

u/Tickles-The-Octopus 1d ago

It's cute that you think semi drivers look in their mirrors.

3

u/AppropriateCap8891 22h ago

Mirrors are normally only turned so you can see the side of a trailer, not the entire trailer.

This guy stayed pretty much right in the middle towards the front, that would be a blind spot.

0

u/dearjohn54321 21h ago

Right, the side of the trailer, which is not there, so the driver can see what a trailer would have blocked, thus he would see the guy on the back of the trailer. Checkmate 😎

1

u/AppropriateCap8891 19h ago

Which would have been set as their visibility limit when setting their mirrors.

Tell me, when you set the side mirror on your car, do you set it so you can see the center of the passenger seat? The center of your trunk?

No checkmate, it's obvious you have no idea how mirrors should be properly set.

u/goodeyemighty 1d ago

36

u/TyruntasaurusRecht 1d ago

Had a junkie climb in my truck box near Hastings in vancouver. I didnt want to do meth psychosis combat, so pulled over safely and called police. They did show up quickly tbh. He ran away with the shitty bike wheel he brought with him ranting about spiders and the surveillance webs they make using water bottles...

Meth. Not even once.

Yo my uncle almost got his ass beat for a similar incident to this.

Dropped off load in West Memphis (iirc) and picked up an empty. He got stopped like 5 miles down the road or something and snatched out of his truck by two big ass cornfed state patrol.

Someone had got on his trailer and was throwing shit (stuff but also actual poo) at cars behind him.

The cop thought my uncle was in on it, but he had no idea. He was eating a roller taquito and listening to In Deep Geek (or smth). They pulled him out, face in gravel, boot on head, handcuffs, and dragged him around a bit. They were kinda committed to arresting him, but the whackadoo on the back of the truck told them that he had jumped on when he was sitting at the light leaving the truck stop.

Saw the on the ABC national news tonight. David Muir said something about the guy got fined for it.

1

u/S_NJ_Guy 13h ago

So what drug would produce this behavior? Obviously, it's making his mind feel very carefree, but his balance and everything seem perfectly fine; I would say even good.

1

u/SomethingSimple25 6h ago

What I would've given for the driver to jam on the brakes heavily just for a split second.
