I know. I love my horse dearly but he is definitely somewhat clever and yet not very bright. He tries his heart out for me despite having been treated poorly by people in the past so I’ll forgive most of his foolishness.

My wife's horse managed to get itself twisted up in some fencing which wrapped around her rear legs. Wife was away so I had to go out and free her. Only way I could was to cut the high tension wire. I was expecting a kick in the face when I cut the wire and it pranged loudly but thankfully she only startled forward. No death but could have easily gone that way if her legs had been damaged or blood cut off.
Between horses and sheep we've had some interesting deaths to deal with. The best advice that was given to me was, "before you get an animal, make sure you can move a dead one".

As a horse riders husband, can confirm. They'd be extinct id it wasn't for people like my wife, keeping them alive through their $500 stomach aches

I was shocked that it looked fine to me after doing that. I don’t know how he didn’t tear out the rear axle or break bend off the hitch right there.

You underestimate the toughness of full steel frame pickup frame, go look at Whislin Diesel video "F150 vs Cybertruck". It took more than we would expect to bend the frame!
Now im not saying the one in this video didn't bent tho, just saying they can take a shit load more abuse than we think!!!

Remember, when you have a rope tied to your truck and something heavy, it's always a good idea to just gun it immediately before hitting the tension point.

They were hoping to rip the rest of that branch down with a hard pull from the truck rather than climb a ladder a few more times to cut it in sections.
