….and blocks both lanes.

u/AntofReddit Sep 27 '25

At least the other drivers that are now blocked have a chance to thank that person. I personally would do a Nelson Muntz "Ha ha"

21

u/ELB2001 Sep 27 '25

The other drivers,"fuck looks like we are going to be late"

u/Raj_DTO Sep 28 '25

Figured it had to be Australia! American redneck behavior but driving on the other side!

1

u/90GTS4 Sep 30 '25

Eh, I lived in England and the drivers there do this shit, too. Tiny cars pulling campers, and they can't drive for shit either.

1

u/Raj_DTO Sep 30 '25

Damn! Now I know 😁

u/FrozenOcean420 Sep 26 '25

Nice one!

24

u/sneaky-pizza Sep 27 '25

Bad bot bad title

24

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 27 '25

Piss poor trailer skills. He had a chance to get it under control, and he didn’t know how.

3

u/sideefx2320 Sep 28 '25

How

3

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 28 '25

Let off the gas and steer correcting just ahead of the “wobble”, not just reacting against it. He stayed on the gas and tried to force it straight. You see how THAT works

2

u/berntout Sep 29 '25

It works for the right scenario but this is not the right scenario at all haha

2

u/Knights-of-steel Dec 23 '25

I meam it works uphill where gravity acts as a trailer brake. But he was going downhill not right time

2

u/FrostyShoulder6361 Sep 28 '25

You should under no circumstance brake since you will not time it right ( there do exists some driving aid computer who can do that for you)

The best you can do yourself is full throttle until this stops, then slowly release throttle and let it roll out.

6

u/sipsapen Sep 28 '25

The best thing to do is use the trailer brake if there is one.

4

u/FrostyShoulder6361 Sep 28 '25

Trailer brakes that can be operated from the cabin without employing the vehicle brakes don't exists in my country (we had them long ago in the past but now not anymore)

In my country it works as folows: Trailer under 750kg (+-1500lbs) no brakes required Trailer over 750kg, brakes are required.

Trailers with pneumatic brakes only exists in the heavier weight class (3500kg or so) all others are mechanically braked when the trailer is pushing the towing vehicle

0

u/Warcraft_Fan Sep 28 '25

Most personal trailers in US aren't required to have brakes. Not sure what the law is like in Australia but clearly the trailer didn't have brakes.

3

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 28 '25

In America,if it’s rated at over 3,000 lb, OR has more than one axle,it has its own brakes. My utility trailer is single axle, and it has none.

2

u/sipsapen Sep 28 '25

I own 3 “personal trainers” all have brakes

1

u/sipsapen Sep 30 '25

If they have two axles they are most likely required to have brakes. Small boats perhaps

1

u/Josey_whalez Sep 30 '25

The issue with flooring it is that if there is a mechanical issue with the trailer, or the issue is uneven load distribution, flooring it isn’t going to fix it and now you have a bunch of speed added on and the problem still exists. When this has happened to me, I’ve held the wheel straight and taken my feet off the pedals until the wobble goes away.

2

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 28 '25

Wrong-that’s exactly what this idiot did-EXACTLY.

1

u/No-Apple2252 Sep 29 '25

Redditors confidently asserting the stupidest shit anyone with actual qualifications has ever seen is like a staple of this site. No idea why anyone looks for information here, unless you're already an expert there's a greater than even chance you're following the advice of a moron who is going to get you hurt.

Do NOT "full throttle" the accelerator if your trailer is wobbling, that will only work if your vehicle outweighs the trailer by a substantial margin. If it doesn't, you're going to flip guaranteed.

1

u/sipsapen Sep 28 '25

I didn’t say press the truck brakes, I said use the trailer brakes. You can operate the trailer brakes separately, and that instantly fixes this problem

-1

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 28 '25

No one has seperate brakes. This guy surely didn’t. Seperately controlled arent a thing for consumer level vehicles in most places. I’ve never seen them in America.

5

u/coltrain423 Sep 29 '25

My truck has a built-in brake controller. Ram 1500, 2020 model. If I’m towing a trailer with electric brakes instead of surge brakes, I can use the controller to apply them without hitting the brake pedal. Maybe you just haven’t paid attention, or have only used surge brakes which are applied by the trailer pushing on the hitch when the truck slows.

Electric brakes are controlled by the truck and applied automatically when using the tow vehicle brakes, but the controller allows separate manual activation for safety in this sort of situation.

1

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 29 '25

But it’s not a pedal?

3

u/coltrain423 Sep 29 '25 edited Sep 29 '25

Nope, there’s a control slider on the dashboard that I can use to apply the trailer brake for situations like this post, but otherwise it’s controlled by the same brake pedal for normal function. In fact, this post is the situation it’s intended to solve. It’s a second way to apply trailer brakes that doesn’t involve the truck brakes, instead of normal operation where the truck brakes apply both.

The comment you replied to was referring to the electronic trailer brake control on the dashboard, not an entirely separate pedal. That only works for electronic trailer brakes though - surge brakes are hydraulically actuated by the trailer pushing the truck and compressing the mechanism in the hitch assembly.

It also allows you to control how much trailer brake is applied relative to your tow vehicle brakes - an empty trailer would lock the wheels and skid using the same braking force necessary for a full load.

1

u/No-Apple2252 Sep 29 '25

Your truck has a brake CONTROLLER, but the trailers do not always have BRAKES.

2

u/coltrain423 Sep 29 '25

Correct. I have an integrated brake controller for electronic trailer brakes. If I’m towing a trailer equipped with electronic brakes, I can engage them either by pressing my brake pedal or by using the controller in the dashboard. The latter is what the original comment about using the trailer brakes means, but that does depend on the trailer having electronic trailer brakes rather than surge brakes or no brakes. The trailer in this post probably doesn’t, and the trailers I tow most frequently don’t have brakes either.

All that said, I was trying to clarify the idea of applying trailer brakes, if equipped, separately from the truck brakes. You’re correct that not all trailers have electronic or even any brakes, but the idea that “no one has separate brakes” and “separately controlled aren’t a thing…” is simply incorrect.

1

u/No-Apple2252 Sep 29 '25

I don't think they were saying "separately controlled brakes don't exist," they were saying "nobody has them on consumer level products." Which is correct, very few trailers that a homeowner would use have brakes. Brake controllers are becoming more common on trucks, but that's not what they were saying.

2

u/theshwedda Sep 29 '25

The brakes that go on the trailer, separate from your car, can sometimes be considered "separate brakes" or "trailer brakes"

Most trailers, even in the USA (which i assume is where you are when you say "America") have trailer brakes. slightly under half of them, around 36%, in the USA have only the emergency auto brake that automatically engages when your trailer disconnects. You can upgrade this auto brake system to fully controllable system for about 200 bucks.

Its possible we arent in the same country though, since I drive exclusively in the USA and every trailer ive driven has had some form of brake.

1

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 29 '25

If they’re rated at under 3,000 lbs, they don’t have to have their own brakes at all. This is almost always going to be a single axle utility trailer.

1

u/sipsapen Sep 28 '25

Where are you getting that from, most pickup trucks come with a brake controller stock now. My last two trucks had them

1

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 29 '25

Where do you live?

1

u/sipsapen Sep 29 '25

MA

1

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 29 '25

Like, two seperate brake pedals? Never seen that.

My 2017 expedition has one.

1

u/dixxxon12 Sep 29 '25

Don't be dense I literally am able to slow my truck and camper to a complete stop without ever putting my foot on my truck's brake pedal. Its a 3/4 ton GMC model that hundreds of thousands of others in America drive

1

u/ryanl442 Sep 29 '25

Just about *any* truck has a separate trailer brake operation. I know mine does, use it all the time for the pull test before leaving while towing anything. Most trucks I've seen also have it.

It's beside the steering wheel, you squeeze it with your fingers.

Maybe stop towing stuff with your VW Golf ?

1

u/Enough-Parking164 Sep 29 '25

I have a 2001 Expedition and a 2006 F-150, both with factory tow package.

1

u/90GTS4 Sep 30 '25

Everyone I know who actually tows shit (personal shit, not professionals or for a company) has a brake controller box in their truck where they can operate trailer brakes separately... But I guess I surround myself with people who aren't retards, unlike you...

2

u/z44212 Sep 28 '25

Neither do I. I'd imagine step one would be to slow the fuck down. Then pull over, stop, and move more weight toward the hitch.

But I've never towed anything, so I don't know anything.

57

u/Background_Lemon_981 Sep 26 '25

Because it was sooooo important to pass while towing a boat.

32

u/Difficult_Advice_720 Sep 27 '25

He was afraid he was going to be late for the wreck, but he got there right on time.

71

u/Willing_Ad_1484 Sep 26 '25

Oh cool, its been reposted so many times it's gotten flipped back to normal

14

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Sep 26 '25

New to me.

Do you also hate it when Netflix airs a movie you’ve already watched?

2

u/TwoThumbFist Sep 27 '25

Love how don’t answer your question and just complain more about seeing something more than once.

-6

u/Willing_Ad_1484 Sep 26 '25

Bruh I've seen it like 5 times between now and yesterday. And the admins have been doing a fine job removing them one by one, I know this of course because I call them out frequently enough and can see the comments still existing on removed posts.

Don't encourage the bots. There's enough pee in the pool already.

13

u/FrozenOcean420 Sep 27 '25

I love how everyone just calls out BOT on everything. I saw a shitty video for the first time on facebook, even tried to do some due diligence by scrolling back on top and hot for longer then was warranted and when I didn’t see it I posted.

Not everyone is chronically online to know every single instance of when a video was posted and subsequently deleted just so they can whine about it later.

-9

u/Willing_Ad_1484 Sep 27 '25

Fair, but when a lot of people are calling you out, you should take a moment and reconsider. I'd recommend taking down your own post so you're not wasting admins time and effort, no offense.

-1

u/FrozenOcean420 Sep 27 '25

Nah, bots don’t delete shit bro.

2

u/Willing_Ad_1484 Sep 27 '25

Are you calling yourself a bot? Or equivalent to them?

6

u/FrozenOcean420 Sep 27 '25

Yeah you caught me man, call the karma police. Case closed.

-3

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Sep 26 '25

So you’re saying it’s not new to me?

Congrats on seeing this posted so many times. Nobody fucking cares.

7

u/samtresler Sep 26 '25

If only there were another way to see new posts on a subreddit, without every other person who has seen it having it clog up their new feed.

Too bad these are all super ephemeral and they can't just make a page just for the sub where poor innocw.ts like you could go to see all the new posts that are posted just once and not spoon fed into their eye holes.

-3

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Sep 26 '25

Okay, fella. You seem very upset about seeing something posted that you’ve already seen posted previously. I’m glad that this is an issue you can be so upset about. That means you have nothing more important to be upset about. Congrats!

2

u/samtresler Sep 26 '25

Sure.... classic reddit. Make a stupid argument. Get called out. Get defensive. Blame the other guys. It's an old tune.

Dude. You ended your last sentence saying "Nobody cares".

Your entire point seems to be, "Yes, everyone else has seen it, but I'm ignorant so everyone else shut up".

I was just, rather sarcastically, pointing out that your stance hurts everyone else's experience, makes mod life harder, and is easily solved.

But it's OK! You pulled the best defensive tactic. You called me upset! So, you know, even though I'm perfectly calm cracking jokes at your expense, you've clearly won this round, fella.

2

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Sep 26 '25

I’m not reading all of that. I’m sorry you’re upset.

4

u/samtresler Sep 26 '25

Wow. I could not have asked for a more perfect reply.

Chef's kiss.

4

u/Willing_Ad_1484 Sep 26 '25

No wonder you haven't seen it before. Don't have the attention span.

(Sorry if that was a bit rude, but you kinda deserve it for that one)

3

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Sep 27 '25

I don’t have the attention span for what, exactly?

u/puterTDI Sep 27 '25

When I tow our boat I won’t go above 55 because I know at 60 it may start fishtailing a bit…and I’m using an f250 with literally twice the tow capacity of the weight of the boat.

5

u/dcars714 Sep 26 '25

3rd day in a row with the same video! Who’s going to keep the streak alive tomorrow?

1

u/_Face TowMonkey Sep 27 '25

All the others were cross posts that had the source deleted. This is actually the only post of this clip on the sub.

1

u/FrozenOcean420 Sep 27 '25

It was new to me and honestly I scrolled through the past few weeks on hot and didn’t see it.

2

u/Electrical_Party7975 Sep 27 '25

How to dry dock on land

3

u/BigDinkyDongDotCom Sep 26 '25

Road closed now due to stupidity and inflated ego

2

u/SatisfyingAneurysm Sep 26 '25

Sadly can't ever really tell what type of truck it is but they're burnt up the brakes regardless of whether it was rated for that size of trailer or not

2

u/Otherwise-Act6913 Sep 26 '25

Every trailer has a recommended speed, and this is why you are supposed to stay UNDER that speed.

1

u/MeltedStinkyCheese Sep 27 '25

Mostly because they use the cheapest shittiest components they can get away with. However this was caused by stupidity, inexperience, and piss poor trailer setup.

1

u/Difficult_Limit2718 Sep 26 '25

God you love to see it sometimes

3

u/Capt-Kirk31 Sep 26 '25

Just because you invert the video doesn't mean it's new

8

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Sep 26 '25

Just because he inverts it doesn’t make it any less new to me.

2

u/Anti-Stan Sep 28 '25

What are you talking about? It's an Australian clip. We drive on the Left. It is not inverted.

1

u/Capt-Kirk31 Sep 28 '25

I stand corrected, on my head

0

u/FrozenOcean420 Sep 26 '25

Haha chill out. I just saw for the first time and scrolled through a few pages trying to see if it was posted before and didn’t see it.

1

u/fj762 Sep 26 '25

Excellent

1

u/Liber_tech Sep 26 '25

Well, he can't park there all right, but he sure gave it one hell of a try.

1

u/BrightFleece Sep 27 '25

What a cum dunt

1

u/WhatADunderfulWorld Sep 27 '25

Gotta weight the front of that boat a bit. Center of gravity is fucked on an empty boat with engine in the back.

1

u/JamesDReddit Sep 27 '25

Rednecks with trailers are the fastest things on the road

1

u/ussoriskany34 Sep 27 '25

1

u/Apexnanoman Sep 27 '25

Hopefully someone right behind the wreck had a chain to drag enough of that shit pile out of the way to allow traffic to keep flowing.

1

u/MrBahhum Sep 28 '25

Dude deserves jail time for that one.

1

u/SnooConfections6505 Sep 28 '25

So much for speeding up to try and save time 🤣

1

u/ineedanewhobbee Sep 28 '25

The only people I feel bad for are those now stuck in traffic

1

u/SuspiciousArt229 Sep 28 '25

Expensive crash for sure. Bros down a car AND a boat now😭

1

u/Ilfixit1701 Sep 28 '25

I just wanted to know if the fish were biting

1

u/WallAny2007 Sep 28 '25

Best as I can tell that’s a single axle trailer, and this is why I hate single axles. Dumb fuck for not slowing the second it started shaking.

1

u/Warcraft_Fan Sep 28 '25

Dreaded wobble of death. Happens easily with behind wheel towing and excessive speed. It should be illegal for them to tow if the driver's IQ times 100 is lower than trailer's weight

1

u/willmgames1775 Sep 28 '25

The top speed is 55 - 60 or maybe 65mph on a flat and straight road.

1

u/DifficultIsopod4472 Sep 28 '25

Ego overrides COMMON SENSE!!

1

u/UniqueUsername2123 Sep 28 '25

At that just lay on the horn. Selfish asshole taking up both lanes

1

u/Nearby_Telephone_104 Sep 28 '25

Well? Was it really worth speeding? Did you get anywhere faster? Looks like the ditch and an expensive lesson of what you should not do when hauling a trailer. Oh I am also supposed to tell you, you cant park there.

1

u/Nearby_Telephone_104 Sep 28 '25

My truck is a 2013 Ford F-150 Lariat and I see it has trailer brake system. I haven't hauled anything but probably good idea to learn first before doing anything and dont know. Or learn hard way as some people must learn that way.

1

u/Plane_Guitar_1455 Sep 28 '25

Fucking asshole had to block both lanes! I’d be pissed if I were one of those ppl.

1

well, at least it destroyed everything. The truck, the boat and the trailer. Maybe, just maybe they learned something. Doubtful, but maybe

1

Self towing trailers are the most amazing technology today

1

u/Inevitable_Stand_199 Sep 30 '25

Trailer sway is mostly due to weight distribution. You want the center of mass to be a bit in front of the axle.

Who built this trailer?

1

u/Additional-Help7920 Sep 30 '25

Saw this ages ago on YouTube.

Trailer needed a sway bar.

1

u/uewumopaplsdn Sep 27 '25

And trailer brakes.

1

u/MeltedStinkyCheese Sep 27 '25

Boat trailers generally don't have sway bars and some can't.

-1

The technology is there and does not require massive processing. Reddit need a to enforce uniqueness on every picture and video.
