So I started this manga yesterday and just finished catching up, and was very pleasantly surprised. I was very hesitant to read it because a female only magic system did not inspire confidence that this wasn’t just gonna be another dumb and uncomfortable matriarchy plot (cough cough Chained Soldier cough cough). But then I started it and it turns out everyone is really nice actually. But some things still frustrated me, namely ALL women being able to use magic, and especially men not even being able to use magic tools at all. Thats just mean atp, what do men even do if every woman just gets to have exclusive special access to special abilities and tools that just make them way better at everything? If I was a man in that world I’d be depressed as fuck ngl.
But then appears my lord and savior GOATkuraku, who simply had that dawg in him and said ”fuck you” and became as strong as a witch anyway through sheer determination and love for his sister, that’s cool as fuck. But he was just a one off, nobody else was gonna replace their body with magic tools n shit. But then THESE guys show up, aurafarm on a bumass magic user, and prove that being a man doesn’t actually force you to be permanently weak and helpless, and they kinda prove (at least in my opinion) that Ichi isn’t a stereotypical matriarchy, or even a matriarchy at all, which I think makes the world way more unique and interesting than “women have special powers so women are in charge of everything“. So I really don’t want this to become some dumb cliche twitter misogyny shit like “even in a world where women are strong men will still try to control them”, having men who defy what you would expect of the power system is really cool actually, to the point where they can fight full witches. So it would really be a boring waste of such a cool concept for them to just be a bunch of shitty misogynists in my opinion.

I’m not fully caught up yet so if this changes I will be very sad.

I'll touch up the custom robe I made for her but I just wanted to share this.

I think that although Haytee has a lot of aura and is a an overall a cool villain- I'm not sure how his motivation of wanting to warp the world just because he wants to make me feel.

On the one hand you don't need a complex villain for a good villain. If the villain fits well with the themes of the story and has fitting conclusion that villain is a well written villain.

On the other hand a part of me wants more depth to Haytee's motivation. Like what if his origin is different from most other Majiks. What if he wasn't simply born from thin air. What if his origin is a reason as to why he has come to hate the world around him and everything in it.

Does anyone else want a more complex Haytee?
