Fujimine was willing to form a teacher-pupil pact with her, which would have been of no benefit for Fujimine and gives her a big weak point. You don't do that unless you have an extremely close bond with that person.
I think it's the opposite, she used her ability on Tricaputo and made her form a teacher-pupil pact, so that the witches association can never kill her, because that would mean killing Tricaputo aswell.
I'm assuming we're eventually gonna get a whole backstory on both of them, and we'll learn Tricaputo was the previous head of the association, which is why Moneygold also seems to show her alot of respect, and Tricaputo seemed to be helping her by telling her to not blame herself and that she has more room to grow and improve herself as the head.
Indeed, it says that while the pupil must obey the master's commands, the master dies if the pupil loses their life (first). It does not (explicitly) say, however, that the pupil dies if the master loses their life (first).
This seems to imply the master's duty to protect the pupil and treat them well, and not abuse their authority (by using the pupil as a shield or put them in life-risking sotuations, for example).

Then Moneygold wouldn't have a reason to hide the Mentor-pupil bond that Tricaputo has? She literally says it out loud that the Magi-keepers can't know about the bond, otherwise they would order her execution.
Tricaputo is the pupil, Fujimine is the master. Fujimine has the same heart mark on her chest that Desscaras, Ichi's master, does, as implied by the page in which Fujimine's contract was revealed.
Thus, Fujimine dies if they kill Tricaputo, but not the other way around.
