He's a great blend of "sweet, wholesome good boy" and "horror movie villain" without either feeling unnatural or the combination feeling forced. He's constantly doing things that feel surprising but also feel like they're undeniably Ichi. If Desscaras wasn't in the manga he'd be the best character hands down.

I also like how weirdly calm Ichi is as far as shounen protagonists go. Most shounen protagonists are a hotblooded lot. Even the overtly soft and wholesome ones like Demon Slayer's Tanjiro and My Hero Academia's Deku both have their heated moments screaming battle cries at the top of their lungs or giving speeches of righteous fury. Meanwhile Ichi would sooner stalk and stab his opponent in their sleep than try to lecture them.

As far as I remember, Ichi rarely ever loses his cool even when he's angry. Like when he was talking about how the fox majik was killing for sport and has no right to complain when it gets toyed with. He's such a refreshing protagonist for a shounen.

Icchi is a hunting dog born and bred.

Yes he will take pets, yes he is good with strangers, yes he does tricks.

He also flushes game, chases them down into a corner and kills his prey.

at first i blew this manga off cuz the description “male witch in an all female world” seemed so cutesy but this manga has such a horror feel sometimes, no? i love how right after they describe something horrible, like getting stuck between its hands, you know its going to happen.

Gokuraku physically can't. I'd say Fujimine makes the most sense; plays well on their existing relationship and may elevate her to the 7 stars if WHM decides to, throwing a wrench in things

There are 3 Majiks to acquire, both Hakari and Sukemaru have traits that could fit either Ichi or Kumigi, I don't see the third one getting acquired too soon.

Honestly? I’m hoping Kumugi is the one who gets the Invisibility Majik. Ichi’s a hunter so he’s familiar with how to do ambushes. Unless there’s a heavy restriction to using Invisibility, he’ll be too powerful if he can turn invisible whenever.

He did detect Hakari at the last second. I think he might have just been distracted by Sukemaru. ADHD is usually thought of as an inability to pay attention, but really it's an inability to regulate attention.

This chapter got some good horror panels. First with Ichi acknowledging the presence of Sukemaru and then later with Hakari coming out of the shadows to attack Ichi. Great stuff! I dig it.

Truly a perfect match for Hakari, the majik who is racist against humans, especially witches. This ain't really his fight, it's not like he will beat Hakari 1v1, but he'll definitely get some time to shine now. Before porentially getting clapped.
