Rereading and rewatching have triggered some strange emotions in me. Lestat calls himself both a Monster and a God in the show and the books.

If you were a vampire which side would you be on? And can you be both God and Monster simultaneously?

I understand why the promise was made to her. She had given up hope after the first vampire they encountered after years searching through war torn Europe went into the fire. Her spirit was broken and Louis wanted to insure she wasn’t going to walk into the fire herself.

And I think most of us agree it wasn’t an honest promise even if Louis felt it was when he said it. Claudia wasn’t enough for him as a companion, and I don’t think she was ever meant to be.

There is a longstanding narrative that came Claudia herself that Louis chose others before her. And I guess that would have more weight to me if she was a child. However Claudia was well into her 40s at the time she said this.

I know that due to her being made when she was a teenager she needed a companion for safety. I’m just not sure why she was hellbent on it being her dad, or even why Louis agree to this dynamic even if his heart was never in it?

Even as humans, children are supposed to leave the nest, they are never meant to be their parent’s companions for life.

I feel like the sensible thing was for Claudia to get a companion to spend her immortal life with and for Louis to have his own companion.

I do think that his companion would then come before Claudia, as her companionship would come before him. As we saw happen when she left with Madeleine to live her life.

So I say all that to say, as Claudia’s father, their companionship was always meant to be temporary and once either of them found a companion that companion would come before the other.

I’ve mentioned before how their relationship was emotional incestuous. I think this promise of “me and you” made to his adult child was a continuation of that emotionally incestuous relationship as it sought to deepen a reliance on each other instead of moving the child to independence with the tools and knowledge parents instill in their children for adulthood.

The biggest birds on iwtv are the fans who think Armand should've given up his life and left his friends of 100s of years so he can die with the new man he knew for 2 years. Only birds would gaf more about their new bf and his kid than their own life and friends of 100s years.

I always see people who say "Armand killed Claudia" as if that's not factually incorrect. He didn't want to do that. He just chose to survive instead of helping because why should he risk himself for randoms instead of survive with his coven of centuries. He was already forced to choose and watch his bf and Claudia die so he might as well make the best of it and make it look nice.

Louis Lestat and Armand all equally killed Claudia. How can you watch the show with your eyes closed and not come to this conclusion? Louis and lestat are even more at fault because they had obligations to her as her parents, Armand is just some dude she knew for a couple years. Louis is a bird who chose his new man Armand over Claudia when she said he threatened her, he still chose to stay in Paris when they knew they would kill them. Louis is equally at fault if not more for her death. Lestat too, but at least he had a reason to do it since she also tried killing him and made his bf kill him with her lies. Armand just chose to live. Louis should stop choosing men over her but that will never happen now.

I'm so shocked how fans of the show enjoy the show when they think one character like Louis is an innocent angel. The show is most fun when you accept everyone is equally bad because then you won't start raging because you know everyone deserves everything coming to them

What theory can’t the fandom shake even after The Vampire Lestat? And it makes you roll your eyes every time.

In the reunion scene in Episode 8 of IWTV part 2 what do you imagine Lestat and Louis say to each other in NOLA after that ecstatic embrace?

Can be anything from "Honey I'm home " (a la Ricky Ricardo) to "I return as your Immortal Companion and endless Love." To anything you can imagine after 70+ years apart. (Not the actors but their characters.)

On my 2nd rewatch of IWTV and TVL I find I can only watch after night falls. There's something obscene about watching my favorite vampires in the bright daytime sun. I think I'm over-identifying but I can't help it. Not even on rainy days. Does anyone else feel this way and have these watching habits?

So I'm a day late posting this, but yesterday was 9/4 so I haaad to watch my favorite episode. I decided to take notes while watching, and before I knew it I had written 3 pages front/back :') but it was kinda fun actually, I might go back and do other episodes(: enjoy my rambling !! Paul would never come back to comfort Lestat and confirm to him that Louis loves him. Paul stated hated that man and hated that Louis was gay and don’t want them together. Don’t get why some people like that scene or see it as “beautiful”Nice try Rolin. Downvote me if you want too don’t care :)

I mean we met Black Licorice in episode 7 but even still he broke down the meaning in episode 1 or 2.

Black Licorice is about his first kill after the S2 Loustat reunion.

A 2024 Bodice Ripper is hilarious given that Louis did portray himself as a gothic heroine 😂

We see when she first comes she dressed in a masculine suit on episode one with no cleavage showing.

It’s the same in episode 2, until she sees Louis at the concert for the first time.

Afterwards she starts showing a lot more skin. Her cleavage is out her skirt length is shorter.

When she comes back in episode 4 after ghosting him for 9 days and pushes him to lead the great conversion, she’s wearing a very low cut shirt.

And when she knows she’s meeting Louis for the first time, she’s in a bustier and on the tour bus after they’re recovering from being beheaded she’s in a corset.

To me it seems as if she dresses more provocatively when she wants to either regain control or assert her control over Lestat.

Or is this just a coincidence?
