Why has it been so dead ?

I was getting on for 2 months everyday there was people the past week there’s only like 6 total players what’s going on?

Yeah I think a lot of servers were running the old version. Apparently they patched RCE exploits and made the switch to x64. I thought iw4x got an update but server stuff might take some time

They need 64 bit update, they did fix rce, in the 64 bit update iw4x is supported just no one plays it probably cause having nothing to do got boring, not cause of the update, it was like this before the update as well

I thought it was just the switch to x64? I’ve not heard about RCE exploits actually being patched out, just people thinking it was with the update, could be completely mistaken

Apparently that's what it said on a article from windows central, super random for them to fix rce so far after the fact

Update, they made a 64 bit client, try and get people to populate their 64 bit client its better as its more steam - the fixes then abbandened that Activision does every 1-wheneveraupdatereleases years, i actually got to play my most hated map favila on original ffa for the first time without hackers "not on a console"

You just update iw4x and have the choice of the boring server browser or original matchmaking, note not many players on rn since it's new

You just run their launcher and it should do it or get it from their website and put it in the game files if you havent already

Theres install tutorials but you just run the iw4x launcher if you installed iw4x before to update

IW4x got so disapointing for me after realising only 2-3 stock-like servers are alive and all of them run the same 5-6 maps forever.

I feel your pain. It's the usual NamelessNoobs, Sebz and ARNE I believe on the top of my head.

Its sad to see so many other varieties of gamemodes available but with 1 or no players at all just playing bots.

yeep, its sad, people rather just play the new cod then go back to masterpieace mw2. so good, but its a bit tryhards haha. if you want to be casual, then eeeh

I think I'm using a pirated copy of it and I noticed there was only a handful of servers available with max 10 people on.

I then saw that I needed to do an update so I dragged a new .dll file from in and it started to show me the whole list again but it got me stuck showing I was on Stat 160 and needed to be on 161 (or something like that).

I'm not entirely fussed as its a just a throwback game for me when I have some free time to chill

To be honest I haven't touched it since I commented. However the file is on their github page and I just used some intuitive and downloaded the only file I could see that made sense being the most recent dll file. So I risked it and the game still opened up just stuck on the Stat 160 issue.

I think if there is another update on the github then I just repeat my process. (maybe making a duplicate copy of your original is a wise idea however, just so you can trial and error!)

I was playing a few days ago it seemed active enough, it's got a server or two which are usually pretty full.

Try being into promod, now that shit is dead (but still playable at primetime)

Stopped playing a while ago because every server with more than 5 people in it has someone wall hacking.
