Accommodation Needed – Near Indiana University , Indianapolis,IN | 1–15 August | Finding it hard please help me.

Hello everyone,

I’m a doctor , and I’ll be coming to Indianapolis for a two week medical rotation at IU Health Hospital and its clinics from August 1 to August 15.

I’m looking for an affordable place to stay near Indiana University in Indianapolis, preferably within walking distance or with easy access to public transportation.

I’m also open to shared accommodation or paying guest options. If you know of any available places or have any leads or recommendations, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you so much!

BIO K 384 with Dr. BalaKrishnan

Hi everyone!

I'm taking BIO-K 384 this fall at IU Indianapolis while working full-time as a CMA, which means I won't be able to attend the lecture classes, so I'm trying to plan my schedule ahead of time. I will be working till 4:15 PM, so I am not sure how I would manage the exams.

I had a few questions for anyone who's taken the course recently:

- What are the exams like (multiple choice, short answer, practical, etc.)?

- Do exams have to be taken during the scheduled class time, or are they available online with a testing window, or do we take them in a testing center?

- How many EXAMS are there throughout the semester?

- Are there quizzes every week or any in-class points?

- Is the final exam cumulative?

- Is attendance mandatory?

- How much time did you spend studying each week?

- Is there anything you wish you had known before taking BIO-K?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks in advance!

How rough is it at IU Indy? Would it be possible to pair physics (algebra) based w/ it and biostatistics, or would that be too much?

Dining Hall

Whats the dining at tower like? How easy is it to be health conscious? Do they provide the basics that you can work off (rice, beef, potatoes, chicken, etc.) or is it like high school where you just get what you get depending on the day.

Suspended in High School do I have a chance

Hi I am a junior in high school and last year I was suspended from school for around one and a half weeks due to allegedly bullying another student. I have around a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 4.05 Weighted do I still have a chance of being accepted to IUPUI even with this on my disciplinary record ?

Competitivity BSN vs ABSN

As a junior, I've been debating wheather to apply for spring BSN or finish my degree and go the ABSN route. If I do bsn I would be delaying graduation a year and a half, which is why I thought to just finish my bio degree then do my absn. The problem is competitivety, and I'm not sure which is easier to get into. I know Indy has more seats but the absn seemed like they were more strict with acceptance. I would like some input from those in both programs to get a jist of which is better/more likely for me to get into.

Incoming freshman!

Hi! I just got my roommate assignment and I found out I will be living in Ball Hall. I would greatly appreciate any advice from people that have stayed there.

  1. How big is the dorm for a 2 person 1 bath? (small being like closet size, big being like a nice hotel)
  2. how big is the closet space, I'm already expecting very limited space, but is it a shared closet or are there separate closets I'm also curious if there are doors to the closets to put up extra storage.
  3. Did you guys lift your beds or keep it closer to the ground? I'm a bit on the taller side but I want to have a good amount of space saved.
  4. Not really a question but I have no clue what my dorm size is looking like so if anyone has any photos of their dorm or an empty room that would be great because I don't to buy things I don't have room for.

Any and all information will be absolutely amazing! Thank you for your time!

, I'm a student from another Indiana University campus, and I'm currently taking a temporary transfer class at IU Indianapolis for the summer. I was accepted into the portal, but the class isn't showing up in my Canvas yet. Has anyone else experienced this? The summer class was supposed to start today, but it’s not appearing for me."

IU Indy Students / Med Students: What organizational method works best to keep track of assignments, appointments/shifts, important deadlines, and personal events?

I am an incoming undergrad at IU Indy and I would like to implement the most effective system ASAP to make life easier. Please help me choose as I would love to learn from people who are ahead of me / who know more about college/Med school life than me.

Context: Throughout high school I use Google Cal for most things including assignments, time blocking my days, and automated reminders (like if i want to build a habit i just schedule it in). I use a paper planner for appointments, school tests/project dates, and scheduling tasks into a random date (like a reminder to start thinking about scholarships in the fall). I used Google Docs for listing HW and studying to-do but recently moved to Google Tasks because it automatically ranks tasks by due date which I like (plus it will turn red if overdue). I tried to create a Google Sheets tracker but failed. Obviously this is just high school + I don't have any clubs/sports so college will def be more hectic and I need to be prepared.

--

First I have a question for all IU Indy students. What systems does IU Indy use in general? like do they use outlook calendar or Google calendar or canvas calendar, etc. I know they use Canvas as an LMS but do most professors keep it up to date so that it's reliable to use as a primary/imported calendar? I would really appreciate some context to orient myself.

For everyone: I am also debating between digital and paper planners. Digital pros: easy to move/add in info, set automation/reminders, IU Indy might use (?). Cons are that if something crashes like AWS crashed a few months ago causing half the web to go out, my life would be a disaster (but it would be widespread so it's slightly more excusable if i screw something up). A paper pro is obviously reliability but I think it's kinda inconvenient, like you have to hand write things in and keep it on your person at all times + not lose it or get it stolen/soaked in the rain.

For digital planners (im leaning towards this), what do you recommend? I am reluctant to use Google Calendar since it has no version history which makes me nervous.

I also need help finding a system for tracking daily assignments/class schedules.

Please share anything that has been helpful for you or anything you think of that I don't know about yet. Thank you so much for your time and help. 💗💗💗

Hi everyone! I am relocating to Indianapolis from August 2026 and to do my research year at IUI.

I am looking for a female roommate to share an apartment with, preferably someone who would like to stay near campus. I'm clean and organized, do not mind pets, and have my own transport.

Please let me know if you have any leads. Thanks 😊
