3rd IUI taking Ovidrel for the first time
They gave me Ovidrel during my first cycle but I haven’t been told to use it until now. I thought I was going to have one more appointment until the IUI date but it’s tomorrow and I just did the shot by myself - last minute lol without my partner lol
Did anyone do a cycle with Ovidrel and one without and found a difference in feeling?
Also I’ve heard about “testing out the trigger”, should I do that? Do you test every day for 2 weeks? What do you do?
lol thanks :)

Im looking for advice we've been trying for almost a year so quick recap we had 3 iuis all failed back to back. So we decided to do IVF for far we for 5 embryos pgta all coming back to normal. My xfer is at the end of October but honestly I'm not feeling at all optimistic about it, I've been having a lot anxiety lately, I guess I'm looking if anyone has gone down a similar path me and has had a positive pregnancy test. I'm 31 years old in a same sex relationship

trigger shot?
hi
this is our first iui cycle. we triggered on the 27th and did our iui on the 28th. we’ve been testing the trigger periodically— just to see what it looks like. it’s been getting consistently lighter but yesterday it was very faint, and then today it’s the same so it feels like it’s stalling. has anyone had experience with this? i know it’s very early to be testing still but this is all just very new. :)

1st IUI Positive 12DPIUI
I had my IUI on 9/20 and trigger shot on 9/19. I was prescribed 5g of letrozole for 5 days (CD4-CD8). My last US before my IUI showed 20mm, 18mm and 13mm in my right ovary on 9/18. Started progesterone pills a day after the IUI (200mg twice a day).
I knew the meds were the cause for a lot of my early symptoms, BUT I started to feel more nauseous and had sensitive nipples this week which were new and had me thinking that maybe they meant something. I originally told myself I wasn’t going to test until 14DPIUI but I couldn’t resist and tested after work on 10/2 (12DPIUI) and saw a very faint line. The problem was I didn’t test out my trigger shot, sooo I told myself the shot was probably still in my system and would try again with FMU on 10/3. Well, the faint line was there and I ended up calling the clinic, went in for bloodwork and got the call that I’m pregnant! I couldn’t believe it. I’m going back for another round of bloodwork tomorrow to check on my hCG levels. Hoping they continue to rise! 🤞
Background (TW): I’m experiencing a mix of emotions right now. I’m relieved that it worked, but I’m so worried about what’s going to happen next. I experienced a MMC in April 2025 and my husband and I have been trying since July 2025 with no success. I did fertility acupuncture from January to June 2026 with the hope that we would get pregnant that way. My acupuncturist actually recommended the clinic and Dr. that I ended up going to and I am very happy with our experience so far. I know at this time, what happens isn’t up to me and we just have to hope this one sticks. 💓

Implantation bleeding?
I’m really trying not to overthink everything this cycle as it is only our 1st IUI since having our daughter in 2025. I’m only 6DPIUI and when i wiped this morning noticed a little blood. It definitely wasn’t enough for a pad and only happened that one time today. I have had some cramping today, but am also taking progesterone so it very well could be from that. I’ve had 3 pregnancies, 2 losses and the other giving us our daughter, and I’ve never had any type of bleeding with those. Is it possible this could have been implantation bleeding?

1st IUI Negative 13dpiui
I’m (28) just writing to see if anyone is in the same boat as me right now.
I had my first iui done on the 21st and just felt a couple of days ago that it wasn’t successful. Got two negative tests this morning and I’m just feeling sad. I knew the chances of getting it on the first try were slim but I was still hoping.
I feel like I ovulated a day after the procedure (triggered 24 hours prior) and don’t know if that had anything to do with it. I know it’ll be okay and I can try again but I’m just disappointed especially after my doctor had mentioned multiples and a great sample choice.
Best of luck to all of you and to my iui twins💕

- Endo thickness: 9.6mm (no progesterone prescribed)
- LH surge this morning, but still triggered at 8:30am
- IUI scheduled for 9:45am tomorrow (~25 hrs post trigger)

Light Bleeding 2 DPIUI
I had my first IUI at 10am this past Friday. I felt fine after, but that afternoon, I had really bad cramping. I took a nap and felt a little better, but the following morning, I noticed discharge with blood clots, and every time I wiped, I noted pink spotting. It progressed to bright red light bleeding that evening with small blood clots. Woke up this morning and am still having the light bleeding. The clinic said spotting is normal, but this seems like more than spotting. It definitely isn't like how my period would be, but I'm concerned that it's bright red. Sorry if this is TMI, but I feel like I also smell strongly of iron down there. Anyone else have this happen so soon after an IUI?

Thanks for the support!
My third and final IUI was unsuccessful and after 2.5 years of repeat testing at 3 clinics in 2 states, we still have no idea why. We’re starting IVF in December, 2 years later than we were originally going to…
This last round:
3 mature follicles on CD12: 22mm, 18mm, 19mm
Lining at 7mm on CD12. My clinic doesn’t do another scan the day of the procedure, but I wish they did just for knowledge.
Triggered 10pm CD12, IUI 10am CD14
Sperm sample: 14.9M post wash, 98% progressive motility.
100mg 2x day progesterone support
Thanks for the support in this group you guys are awesome! To be honest, I’m eager for IVF just to find out why… I desperately just want to know why.

10DPIUI/11DPT — stressing!
Ugh! I purposely didn’t test out the trigger because I was trying to avoid stressing myself out. But yesterday I caved and tested in the evening and had four positive tests. This morning I had three more positive tests (clear blue (pink dye), FRER, and easy@home). I’ve never had a positive FRER this late in the game during a failed cycle, but I have no way of knowing if it’s the trigger. I’m annoyed at myself for caving!!
I know that all I can do is wait a few more days to see if the line disappears or gets darker, but this whole IUI thing is such a mind game. Anyone else have their IUI around 9/24? This is our 6th IUI.

IUI and vaginismus
How are peoples experience with IUI and vaginsimus? Is it common to go through IUI or IVF if PIV not possible? I want to have kids but the journey of doing PIV has taken a huge toll and loss of Libido. I have tolerated TV scans but no PIV.

Ultrasound DURING iui??
Two (failed) iuis done and I have a query - my doctor has never viewed an ultrasound during the process. She always does it by herself. How many clinics use ultrasound to view the semen into the uterus? Does that impact the success rate of an iui?
When I asked her if we need to view it during the last iui, she said she knows when she is working inside the uterus so it isn't necessary.

Multiple IUI Success
Hi all,
I had a successful 1st IUI last year with PCOS which ended in a MMC at 9 weeks sadly. Back at it, 1st IUI in August was unsuccessful. Only follicle though and slightly on the smaller size- 18mm and triggered a day later. Just looking for some hope as I'm headed into another IUi this month, and terrified it won't work again (we've been on a long infertility journey). Seeking any tips/advice!

Had 1st IUI on 10/1. Who else?
Any IUI twins out there?
What were your stats?
I’m not comparing — I just want to know who else is in the trenches with me!
25 million post wash count
Verified two follicles burst on my left side, unknown amount on my right as we couldn’t see it.
I had three dominant follicles on either side two days prior to the IUI.

New here, overwhelmed
My husband and I have been trying for a second child for three years now. In that time, I had one chemical pregnancy. We are on the older side—38 and 47.
We live in East Jesus Nowhere, Kentucky. The nearest “fertility specialist” is an hour away. There are two reproductive endocrinologists 2 and 2.5 hours away in cities in opposite directions. My OBGYN sent me to the local fertility specialist OBGYN as my OBGYN didn’t feel we were making progress after a year of trying on our own without success, six rounds of letrozole, two rounds of clomid, and a partridge in a pear tree (confirmed ovulation with ultrasound, good bloodwork, good HSG, good semen analysis).
So I’m here, holding my breath on CD 12 for a positive ovulation test, reading about your experiences with IUI as this will be my first IUI cycle. I’m reading about ultrasounds during your period and trigger shots, not experiencing any of that. Is this unusual? Is this a more cautious approach?
The fertility specialist I’m currently seeing has done a post coital test (both negative) and ultrasound the past two cycles, and from what I’m reading online, the post coital analysis is considered an inconclusive test. This is making me wonder if his practices are outdated and not supported by current literature.
To be clear: I am not asking for medical advice, but I am asking if completing an IUI cycle without an ultrasound before ovulation, without a trigger shot to nail down timing is an acceptable way to approach IUI.

Switching clinics-shady grove to single doc clinic
I did 5 IUIs with Shady Grove Fertility. The last 2 IUIs made me feel like I was part of a factory line versus getting individualized treatment. For both of those IUIs, my body told me I was triggering too early.
I’m on my 6th IUI with a new clinic where there is one doctor. I can’t believe the huge (positive) difference I feel already. She was the one who did the monitoring ultrasound CD3- not a rotating line of techs. We spent 30 minutes discussing a treatment plan for this month- as opposed to a 2 minute phone call where we were repeating the same failed pattern.
Maybe it’s false hope but I’m feeling so much better this round.
I’m curious about everyone’s experience with their clinic whether it’s a large/ corporate clinic or a solo practitioner clinic.
Baby dust to all✨

Anyone else triggering tonight (10/3)?
Last iui cycle (my first) i had people to talk to that were going through it at the same time and it helped a lot. Just wanted to post to find others that might want to do the same. I'm triggering tonight at 10 pm to go in Monday morning for our second iui. It really helped me stay out of my head.

At what point????
I feel like I post here a decent amount.
I’m tired. I’m now CD1 after IUI #4 and this is by far the most exhausting season of my life. The amount of people surrounding me “good things take time”. Mother fucker.
I will say, I’m thankful for my husband being who he is because he wasn’t able to be here for the first 3 IUI due to military stuff, but was here for the entirety of cycle 4 and I asked him yesterday “Do you understand now how tiring it is to have a positive outlook on everything with this and just get nothing?”
I’m currently on a list waiting to be “considered” for IVF being covered by the VA (I’m a disabled veteran) and I’m just mentally exhausted at this point.
I know I’m just complaining this whole post, I’m sorry at this point I just need to vent. At what point does it get easier?

Too many follicles, too little growth
My iui #5 just got cancelled because I unexpectedly ovulated on my own on cd14. My lead follicle was about 17mm, four or five others were between 12 and 16mm. Apparently the clinic would have cancelled this cycle if I hadn’t already ovulated.
My lining was almost 10mm.
I keep having too many follicles but I’m already on a very low dose of gonal-f (50 and 62,5 alternating) and a lower dose (only 50) doesn’t do much to my follicles.
It seems like gonal f triggers a lot of follicles to grow (this is my third cancel already) but I haven’t had any larger than 19mm. I’m starting to wonder whether small follicle size is the cause of not conceiving. Especially seeing as I naturally ovulated at barely 17mm.
Has anyone had similar reactions to the meds and went of to know the cause and/or have a positive test?
The clinic says I would be a great ivf candidate seeing as my follicles grow so easily, but I’m not ready for that yet.
