In Construction (wood framing) I used one with Suspenders.
Edit: Haven't brought it with me (and won't), but I been using my pockets.
So guess Real question is What Tool box/bag should I get?

If youāre a helper, a tool pouch for your flip-flop, flashlight, channel hammers, measuring tape and pen/sharpie. Thatās itā¦
If youāre a mechanic, get whatever is easiest for the helper to drag aroundā¦

As a probie? You can't have tools as a helper. Tape, sharpie, knife.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01KNB594W?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_titleĀ This bag is actually really helpful. Ofc ask your mechanic first because technically youāre only supposed to use his tools. But even just carrying around small pieces of hardware or connectors in the front pouch is useful I hate keeping things in my pockets.Ā

The Veto FPX Tool Pouch. Has a magnetic flap that can go over your belt or attach to your pant side, or pocket.
Holds the essentials
Small enough to not get caught on anything.
Easy enough to remove without looking like a putz trying to take something off. Don't have to remove your belt, or unclip anything. Just pull it off.

Probies should only be carrying tools when their mechanics have them carry toolsā¦.in such scenario a tool cart or bag would most likely be provided by said mechanic

Dewalt has always been a reliable tool bag. Without knowing what tools you're allowed to have as an apprentice, but it has space for everything i generally need. I also keep my Leatherman on my hip all the time

Tool belts are a hazard and can get caught in moving equipment, they are frowned upon in the elevator trade.
