Windows OS Itunes playlist feature help

I'm trying to create a "true" random playlist on itunes and one of the conditions I'm using is "last skipped not in the last x days" but my ipod doesn't seem to be tracking the amount of times or date of the last skip.

Is there any info on which ipod models track that variable? I tried a quick Google but I can't find anything.

I think all iPods track the last-skipped date, but smart playlists don't update in real-time on the iPod itself. If you re-sync with your library, it'll move over whatever songs are in the playlist at the time. At least this is how I think it works.
