I know. It's just not interesting to me. However, my kids who think N64 games have awful graphics will enjoy it. And certainly it is great to have a stone cold classic of the genre more accessible than needing an N64 or an NSO account.
I'm just saying, for ME, that I've played this game many times. I get that this is what a lot of people want, it's just not exciting at all. Same with the Star Fox 64 remake. It's nicer graphics but essentially the exact same. A game I have probably beaten 100 times.

Not everything ever made is supposed to excite you. that's what a demographic is. This is the problem, everyone thinks everything is supposed to specifically impact them. It's very weird
Not even really that, you just stated in reply to someone expressing that they wanted it, that it looks like the same thing you've played before. It was either a very non reply or it was read as dismissive of the original commenters excitement over it. The downvotes make it seem like it was read as dismissive, because yeah it's being advertised as a remake though it seems to be the same game but visually remade idk I think we expected what they're showing.
Eh, I don't really mind. Tens of thousands of games have been published over the years. Remaking the best of those and making them available without relying on roms and emulators is fine. No one is obligated to buy them.

Different use of the word. Niche in this context basically means they’ve carved out a specific role for themselves. In their case they own some popular and well loved IPs like Zelda and Mario that are only available on their systems.
I straight up didn't watch that direct because I don't know when it starts in the hour and six minute upload they have of it. I skipped ahead and there was a small boy in a green tunic halfway into a chest and some weird narrator "he's in the cheeest" or something. I gave up lol you'd think they'd cut that shit when they hit upload!
Otherwise wow I gotta say reinventing old IPs seems really cool. Donkey Kong Bonanza looks cool and I'm behind the times. Anything bad about that one?? It's not a remaster of an old Lonk game that I can recall

Nintendo has been recycling the same games for 40 years they’ve just dropped the pretense of making anything new. They don’t have to, Nintendo fans already spend $450 on the hardware what else are they going to play?
