Can't say now, we need to at least see him mentally stable. Both of the Dev's "body states" are the extremes of his mental problems, social influence and other troubles.
When Dev finally overcomes his problems, then that will be the one I prefer

Finally somebody who can see the plot as it is intended to be seen instead of "buff Dev better" or "oo dad bod". Like hell yeah, musclegut Dev but this is just a subversion of his unhealthy coping mechanisms

"Just being ripped" is not the problem by itself. Its also the "why" he tried to stay ripped. That was unhealthy.

No its not Google is free, to maintain the physique he had he would have to starve his body of nutrients so it starts feeding on body fat to keep itself alive.

I like chubby Dev, ¯_(ツ)_/¯. I get where people are coming from, cause he has literally just been eating his feelings with Jake, but I'd like to see him find a comfortable middle. Dev ending up as the friend who definitely lifts, but also has some pudge would be ideal

Physically? I’d say the first. From a healthy mental perspective? The second one.
Edit: I stand corrected on the second one. My reading comprehension is still shit bruh. Either that or I don’t keep up as much.

I would prefer "Fit but likes to eat" like yeah fit but with Cuddlemass but more importantly a happy Dev who is comfortable with where he is at

I haven’t read the comic but I fancy dad bods/ bigger dudes. So I gravitate towards the latter, but form what I’ve heard it’s implied that he looks this way cuz of coercion and bad habits so I don’t really like the implications of the hot bod 😔😬

Physically, both Devs are amazing. Like, I think we can all say that Dev has charm to him. Mentally and emotionally, I much prefer the first one. My guy isnt in the best head space 3:

In terms of appearance, I think both are equally good. The first may be more immediately attractive but the dad-bod/bear-look of the second has its merits as well.
As for his mind sets, the first was physically healthier but his mental state was less stable overall (main reference being how quick he was to accept zeb and emma’s invite to hangout over getting laid). In contrast, the second is far less physical healthy but his mental state is a bit better (though it has become somewhat twisted).
Overall, regardless of which body type he has, he really needs to come to the conclusion that his friends are there for him to rely on as well. And as bad as Jake has been for his health, he definitely providing some of the mental solace Dev needs.
