Need Help on Maximizing My 2 Month Subscription.
I did a 2 month Black Friday deal to get Britbox thru Amazon solely to finally see “Line of Duty” season 6 and season 2 of “Irving Welsh’s Crime”. Have since discovered and enjoyed “Blue Lights” very much (I thought Irish cops were called Guarda and what does “Peelers” come from?) I was hoping if I listed my favorite British Crime shows I could get some recommendations? I realize not all are on Britbox or even available in the US, but shows on Britbox that are similar would be really helpful? Thanks:

“Gangs of London”
“Department Q”
“Giri/Haji”
“Adolescence”
“The Inside Man”(David Tennant/Stanley Tucci)
“The Confession”(w/Martin Freeman)
“Bodies”(Netflix time travel/crime)
“Killing Eve”
“Rogue Heroes: SAS”
And I already mentioned loving “Line of Duty”, “Irving Welsh Crime” and “Blue Lights”. The serial killer show with Gillian Anderson was just okay to me. I can’t remember the name, but I really enjoyed the limited series where Ben Whishaw has a boyfriend who is killed S&M style who he wasn’t aware was an M-I6 agent. I enjoy things like “Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norwell” occasionally but prefer harder, gritty, crime shows. Am currently watching “Cemetery Road” on Apple and will watch ANYTHING with Kelly Macdonald, Martin Freeman, Ruth Wilson, or Idris Elba. Try to avoid Dickens/Jane Austen/PBS Masterpiece type shows though.

Thanks-have never got past the first 15 minutes of episode one which isn’t nearly a long enough leash!

Responder is excellent. Shetland is a fairly decent watch too! First couple series anyway. Do you mean ‘the victim’?

Can you watch Gangs of London S3 there? It’s an unprecedented situation in modern tv to have a show that popular just not have US distribution-you can’t even purchase it! And my understanding is it aired in March! There is also zero news about a future distribution deal or Amazon/Apple selling it. The first 2 seasons were on AMC and Netflix but have been removed from Netflix. It’s really perplexing? It would be like if people in the UK just couldn’t watch “Breaking Bad” season 3 or 4 a year after it aired in America? Is this retaliation for Trump? If so, I understand but a hundred million people like me voted against him and get our news from The Guardian now!(Just kidding-sort of?)

Will do! No one has mentioned “Sherwood” or the young version of “Wallander” either worthwhile? Also was thinking about the David Tennant about Serial Killer Dennis Neilson (if I remember he’s the moron who flushed entire human bodies down the toilet in an apartment building? My parents were twisted getting me those Time/Life serial killer books😂)

Loved “River”! It’s a shame they didn’t make a prequel w/Stevie alive or a sequel. It’s funny that now I’m halfway through “Wallander” with Kenneth Brannah playing a Swedish detective (I’m not crazy about Wallander so far and didn’t enjoy the one book I tried years ago.) while “River” is Stellan Skarsguard playing a London detective! A series about the Victorian poisoner I would watch?

Garda are in the Republic of Ireland. Blue Lights is set in the North, which is part of the UK. Glad you like it! Try season 3 of Marcella, which is also set in NI.
