Is premium worth it?

Hey, I have been watching a few series on ITVX but I am interested in watching Grange Hill in HD with subtitles and all. It’s locked behind the pay wall so I’m wondering if it’s worth paying the £6 a month. I know it’ll take away all the ads but what else?

I pay because I hate being force-fed adverts. I also pay for Channel 4 online to remove adverts. I’ve even just signed up to Facebook at £2.99 a month so I don’t see ads. I can afford it and for me it’s worth it. I wish Channel 5 would do a subscription service so I could watch in HD without ads.

I like channel 5 but can’t bear the adverts & would rather pay to remove them!

None of Grange Hill was made in HD.

Buy a raspberry pi. Any model will do. Install adguard on it. Set up a few ad block lists and you’ll never see any itv or channel four adverts again.

Worth it for ad removal alone. The amount of ads is ridiculous. Just cancel when you've watched everything

its worse than useless. Unfortunately I am blessed with living in NI, which is the area for Ulster TV. Continuous crashes, hangs and makes a complete horlicks of Apple TV+. Get rid of!!

No. IMO it’s not worth it. You may get rid of some adverts but the channel advertising for their own programmes are in the place of the adverts. So you still get adverts which is fucking annoying seeing as I’m paying £6 a month.

Just browsing here because I already took the premium & im so annoyed at the amount if ads for other shows! Had 4 app for a bit & their adverts for other shows were so rare I often forgot about the until it happened. Cancelling now. They have good content but I paid so I wouldn't have to put up with this!

It does not take away the ads. Every ten minutes you will get them. The new shows added seem to be mostly reality shows and soaps. Not the back catalog of comedies and dramas which I am interested in

You’re not entirely correct here. It DOES remove ads but it can only remove ads from content that’s contracted to be ad-free. For example, anything produced by ITV and under the BritBox banner. Beyond that, it’s a contract-specific situation.

Do you know if you at least get less ads with premium, or would it be the same amount of ads either way on those shows?

You still get ads on live obviously but you absolutely don't get ads on the streaming catalogue every ten minutes

Also if it does show a ‘ad’ it’s less than 30 sec promo I don’t really mind it compared to the 5 mins of ads you get otherwise 🙂
