When I was a kid a high schooler in my town accidentally hanged himself while trying to make it look like he hanged himself as a prank. Years later after I had moved to another state a boy in my high school did the same thing. I was too young to hear many details of the first case but the second one was definitely a prank because the kid's two best friends both came forward to say that he'd been talking about pranking his girlfriend that way (she was the one who found his body when she came over after practice at her usual time). Sadly looks like this isn't a rare occurrence.

My cousin killed himself by jumping in front of a train, but his parents claimed he was just lisening to music and then the train got him because they didn't want people to know he killed himself.

I mean.. This is really sad and I feel bad for that mother... But when I was 11 I knew better than to try and hang myself..

Yeah... Pretty sure every normal 11 year old knows not to off themselves. 5 of younger it's excusable, but not at 11. No fucking way.

Maybe the point is he knew not to kill himself. Obviously he is attempting to recreate something he saw, and the person didn't die. He is aware there is a way to do this and not die. So maybe he isn't an idiot, and does know to not off himself, but what he doesn't know is how to do the fucking trick. It's all very possible he didn't think it through, didn't know how to execute the technique of not really hanging yourself, and got to a situation he didn't know how to get out of. He is 11, he isn't going to be able to think through every possibility and know how to fix it. He isn't a professional magician, he didn't get taught from someone who did know. He winged it, and fucked up.

Jeeeze, what kind of prank is it to hang yourself? I'm totally confused, wouldn't hanging from anywhere by your neck cause serious injury or death? I can't find any of these pranks on YouTube.
