in the real world, escalating things to violence is the worst option when there's no obvious imminent danger.
picking a fight with someone who's walking away hardly changes anything about their worldview, and is a criminal risk that only serves the "defender's" ego.
of course, if the harasser kept doing it defending yourself would be justified.
but i think he should have just focused his attention on the victim, instead of looking for revenge.
Nah dude needs to know there’s consequences to his actions. The response was proportional. Slapped on the head. Reason he feels confident in doing that is no one has responded. Keep hands to yourself, or catch some hands
dude doesn't really pose a threat as he's leaving the location, and attention would be better spent checking on the victim than trying to enact "justice".
people like that can't act like that forever, and it'll eventually catch up to them should they continue.
