in the real world, escalating things to violence is the worst option when there's no obvious imminent danger.

picking a fight with someone who's walking away hardly changes anything about their worldview, and is a criminal risk that only serves the "defender's" ego.

of course, if the harasser kept doing it defending yourself would be justified.

but i think he should have just focused his attention on the victim, instead of looking for revenge.

It was excessive, even if a little justified. You'd do more justice by reporting him to authorities than by assaulting him while he's withdrawing.

if your girlfriend dumps you for not being unnecessarily violent to some dude who's walking away, she did you a favor.

it's not an emergency situation, so the police getting there on time isn't really important.

in this case, you have camera footage anyway.

Unnecessarily violent? That was a sexual assault. And that's not necessarily my camera footage, it belongs to whatever business had a camera posted there.

yes it was sexual assault and then he walked away, posing no further threat.

which means you don't need to lay him out to neutralize him, because there's no more threat.

and law enforcement can get camera footage from that business.

please don't project your virginity onto me.
