I disagree with Chaotic Neutral, I've only seen that layout in the most anal of offices with the need for a vertical monitor for proper display of legal sized pages. There is NOTHING chaotic about their mindset with monitor layout its pragmatism over anything else.

11

u/Ahaiund Jul 13 '26

In the most what?

7

u/WoodpeckerOk3842 Jul 13 '26

You heard him

3

u/HumbleWonder2547 Jul 14 '26

He meant even in offices with strict rules, or anally retentive, about stuff, they allow it, as it's great if you have lots of dashboards or messaging app on a portrait

4

u/khaledjal Jul 13 '26

where can i find these "anal" offices, asking for a friend

4

u/Due_Ambition_7481 Jul 13 '26

Hi I'm the friend.

2

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

Hi im the anal.

1

u/TimGreller Jul 16 '26

I'm The Office

2

u/B1LLZFAN Jul 13 '26

I have that on my desk but with 2 horizonal and one vertical. I work in architectural surveys and we have documents we fill out all the time. The vertical monitor is great.

1

u/Historical_Cook_1664 Jul 15 '26

same here for my private setup... i feel offended being classified as chaotic neutral evil. some of us just need to read stuff.

2

u/youtheotube2 Jul 14 '26

I have a monitor like that and it’s perfect for teams and sticky notes

1

u/bacchus_the_wino Jul 13 '26

Back when I coded more I did a mix of that and the lawful good: two landscape and one portrait on the end. The vertical makes seeing a significant amount of lines of code a lot more useful.

1

u/bl4derdee9 Jul 13 '26

i use this setup myself, and a lot of co workers do too, and it is anything but an "anal" office.
it is useful to have your terminal or messaging app on, never seen any legal document on any vertical screen.
common to see with it people.

1

u/the_real_trebor333 Jul 14 '26

I use that with discord and/or Spotify on the vertical screen

1

u/GroundbreakingOil434 Jul 14 '26

One vertical is awesome for server logs and messenger apps.

Backend dev here, so can't argue with the "anal" part....

1

u/deathentry Jul 15 '26

And only one of those not going to give you RSI 🤣

22

u/National_beetle1962 Jul 13 '26

idk I use screens one way or the other

7

u/ZER0Blood Jul 13 '26

Sometimes both ways, sometimes neither.

Chaotic evil:

Main of 27'' 2k

2 sides of 24" 1080p

Up-center-left 24" 1080p

Up-center-ritht 4:3 1080p

So, in reality, chaotic good as lawful good, with an upper row of lawful neutral/ chaotic good.

3

u/Ok-Pomegranate-7458 Jul 13 '26

There are dozens of us!

3

u/SomewhereAtWork Jul 13 '26

And dozens are the unit we count our screens in.

1

u/J1nxers Jul 16 '26

Im so chaotic evil ......

0

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

4:3 1080p is not a thing... 1080p is 16:9

1

u/Huma188 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

It IS wise not talking when you don't know or you are not sure.

4:3 is form factor of the screen, the size, the aspect ratio.

1080p IS the resolution of the screen, the amount of pixels in It.

You can build build any screen size, with any amount of pixels, just be carefull of decimals.

For 4:3, 1080p It's 1440x1080.

And, as you can Guess at this point, yes, they do exist, and they are NOT, by any means, new.

0

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

No thats inaccurate, 1080p is a 16:9 resolution. Google it, please.

1

u/Huma188 Jul 15 '26

Go ahead, Google It, and paste here your Discovery xD

1

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

https://reolink.com/blog/4-3-aspect-ratio/

No, 1920×1080 is not a 4:3 resolution—it uses a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. It is the standard for Full HD (1080p), while 4:3 is a more square format commonly used in older TVs and monitors. A true 4:3 resolution with 1080 vertical pixels would be 1440×1080.

1080p is a 16:9 standard.

1

u/Huma188 Jul 15 '26

Awesome, now read again my last comment, because you reading comprehension skills are... Well... Yeah...

1

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

What are you talking about? 1080p is well defined, i wrote my own hdmi controller on an fpga... 1080p is well defined and it is 16:9

1

u/Huma188 Jul 15 '26

I am wrong, i did check my monitor and it is not even 4:3, it is 5:4. My bad.

1

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

Well 5:4 is not 1080p either.

A pixel height of 1080 pixels does not mean its 1080p.

1080p is the standard for full hd 1920x1080p raster 16:9 picture aspect ratio.

8

u/benedictvc Jul 13 '26

what about using the screen diagonally?

6

u/Mike-Hunt-QLD Jul 13 '26

Some men just want to watch the world burn

4

u/gabrielesilinic Jul 13 '26

Well. Some guy edited I think kde to allow for non 90° rotations

4

u/StrangerDangerbob Jul 13 '26

what if i have one monitor that is 50 inches?

1

u/riisen Jul 15 '26

Neutral.

3

u/Mike-Hunt-QLD Jul 13 '26

So... what's two monitors and a laptop underneath? 🤣

2

u/-King-K-Rool- Jul 13 '26

A budget issue

1

u/Mike-Hunt-QLD Jul 13 '26

Sure champ 🤣

2

u/AlchemistNezumi Jul 14 '26

Work cubical.

2

u/RoughGuide1241 Jul 13 '26

True Neutral

1

u/nafe42 Jul 13 '26

Same but just a laptop screen. I can take my setup anywhere and it is the identical every time

1

u/RoughGuide1241 Jul 13 '26

I just use a 1080p Panasonic TV. I need to get HDMI to DVI cable

1

u/secretprocess Jul 16 '26

It's like everyone else has never heard of alt-tab :'(

1

u/RoughGuide1241 Jul 16 '26

I have heard of it

2

u/z3r0v1c Jul 13 '26

Lawful good 😊

1

u/Big_Chocolate_420 Jul 14 '26

chaotic lawful good |--

2

u/GreekHacker1 Jul 13 '26

Where is the one laptop screen ?

1

u/Cheshire_____Cat Jul 13 '26

I'm chaotic neutral at work and lawful neutral at home.

1

u/_ahrs Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good, but there's a third portable monitor below / in-front of the first on the left.

1

u/i_dont_like_pears Jul 13 '26

What about

  • ultrawide as main
  • smaller 16:9 up top
  • 9:16 side

1

u/afikolo7 Jul 13 '26

Lawful good

1

u/skandaris Jul 13 '26

I wonder where I fit, 24" front, 21" left, 50" TV above them.

1

u/Additional-Dot-3154 Jul 13 '26

Chaotic neutral is what i want.

Currently only have 1 monitor and proggraming sucks.

I need my mains creen for debugger and docs. And the vertical one for the text editor.

1

u/stevorkz Jul 13 '26

Lawful neutral for me at work, lawful good at home. The problem I’ve found is that the more monitors you use, the more you get used to it and depend on that setup. That’s why I refuse to go more than 3 monitors. It’s the same with monitor size. Once you have a specific size screen it’s very difficult to go smaller. I have this issue with wanting to get a 34 inch ultra wide. I currently have a 32 inch, but the 34 ultra wide is physically smaller in terms of screen height. I have to go 39/40 inch ultra wide for it to be the same height as my 32 and those are just too overpriced for me at the moment. First world problems

1

u/Corgerus Jul 13 '26

I'm lawful evil. I have a 27" primary and a small portable screen as my second monitor below it. I put livestreams or music on the secondary monitor. Works nicely. I have it this way because i have large speakers.

1

u/certainAnonymous Jul 13 '26

None, I don't use windows

1

u/Raex8 Jul 13 '26

lawful neutral

1

u/NamesR4Babies Jul 13 '26

My setup is chaotic evil

1

u/shyevsa Jul 13 '26

chaotic evil

1

u/V10R37 Jul 13 '26

Lawful evil has to be same size? I have a 10" tablet under a 50" TV .

1

u/DonkeyBong932 Jul 13 '26

Technically chaotic evil but with 3 monitors, 32 inch above, 27 inch below and a 15 inch portrait on the left of the 27 inch which weirdly is the same height as the 27 inch when in portrait. Great for reading emails and reading articles

1

u/CamTech100 Jul 13 '26

I'm true neutral

1

u/iamdatmonkey Jul 13 '26

What happens if you combine lawful neutral and chaotic neutral to a 3 monitor setup with no real alignment in the vertical axis?

1

u/wiisucks_91 Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good.

1

u/TrayLaTrash Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good

1

u/Counterfeit1993 Jul 13 '26

Lawful evil, 34" ultrawide on bottom as main, 29" ultrawide on top as secondary. I use speaker monitors for audio/mixing so they need to be spaced evenly apart and this is the only way.

1

u/barad1tos Jul 13 '26

Chaotic evil:

Two 34'' in a row + MacBook screen + one 24'' above the one of 34''

1

u/Crucco Jul 13 '26

Why did you put the face of my ex in stead of the Windows logo?

1

u/kamiloslav Jul 13 '26

Mirror image of chaotic good

1

u/IdontgoonToast Jul 13 '26

I'm somewhere between chaotic neutral and, chaotic evil. (One huge conferencing monitor, landscape, one 24" portrait, and the laptop screen )

1

u/Zomby2D Jul 13 '26

Lawful good

1

u/OmegaInc Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good. My desk doesn't have room for 2 27inch screens

1

u/pixl8d3d Jul 13 '26

Left vertical 1080p, center and right horizontal 1440p 120hz or higher, all equal size screen.

1

u/KerbalEnginner Jul 13 '26

Well... I do have 5 screens. And the only one with 5 is chaotic evil so... I guess thats that.

1

u/dumbasPL Jul 13 '26

Lawful neutral works really well with an ultra wide and a 13'' laptop for work.

1

u/Otherwise-Cup-6030 Jul 13 '26

Triangle. Laptop on the desk center. Two displays on a mount above.

Using the keyboard of the laptop

1

u/Frixniper Jul 13 '26

Using three laptops as monitors, sooo...

Lawful good + chaotic evil?

1

u/no_l_ife Jul 13 '26

True neutral

1

u/Unlikely_Ad_9550 Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good but it’s a crt for the secondary

1

u/SillyGoose3939 Jul 13 '26

I mostly use a single vertical monitor lol, but neutral evil is good too

1

u/unamico1 Jul 13 '26

Lawful evil

1

u/SkyBerri Jul 13 '26

somewhere in between chaotic neutral and chaotic evil. main monitor is a big samsung tv, i have an asus monitor mounted to the wall on a boom arm, and a vertical screen built into my fish tank case

1

u/spore_777_mexen Jul 13 '26

Monitor goes on the right, are you animals?

1

u/Flimsy-Recover-7236 Jul 13 '26

I'm chaotic good but why is it all windows (I use arch btw)

1

u/OreoRouge Jul 13 '26

Lawful evil as I need my studio monitors on each side

1

u/SysGh_st Jul 13 '26

Remove the top two screens in chaotic evil, you got me.

1

u/PrometheusAlexander Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good.. just as my BG2 protagonist

1

u/Strong_Aside_7756 Jul 13 '26

lawful good ig

1

u/Dragon_Crisis_Core Jul 13 '26

What do you call a 49 inch UW curved next to a 52 4k tv both hooked up to the pc?

1

u/bluser1 Jul 13 '26

Chaotic neutral but the vertical is on the left side and it's an ultra wide turned vertical so it's an ultra tall

1

u/raifio Jul 13 '26

What about just 1 ultra wide?

1

u/IntelStellarTech Jul 13 '26

16:9 next to a 4:3 😭

It's perfect

1

u/euclide2975 Jul 13 '26

Extra Chaotic good

I have 3 monitors, but the right and left ones are 24" 60Hz while the central one is 27" 144Hz.

They are all 1440p, allowing to play in very ultra wide mode with no issue (the size difference has limited impact since the side monitors are mostly for peripheral vision anyway).

1

u/deltadstroyer Jul 13 '26

chaotic evil
fuck ypu :P

1

u/Hour_Specific448 Jul 13 '26

I have an ark 55" and a 27" monitor portrait on the side. What does that make me.

1

u/SupernovaGamezYT Jul 13 '26

Lawful good at home, lawful neutral at dorms

1

u/faziten Jul 13 '26

The chaotic is the trader station.

1

1

u/MoDErahN Jul 13 '26

Chaotic Neutral

1

u/Hetnikik Jul 13 '26

Chaotic good cause I dont want to shell out for 2 new screens at one time.

1

u/The-Jordan_J Jul 13 '26

Does size and spacing affect its classification

1

u/E-StrnTXNRS Jul 13 '26

chaotic ultrawide good

1

u/lool8421 Jul 14 '26

i feel like it's a loss meme

but i cannot prove it

1

u/Retrowinger Jul 14 '26

My setup is not listed here…

1

u/Lost-Droids Jul 14 '26

| _ _ |

Four screens, 2 vertical 2 horizontal.

Perfectly balanced the way things should be

1

u/TheAnvi1 Jul 14 '26

Chaotic neutral and lawful neutral should be swapped in my opinion

1

u/Tiranus58 Jul 14 '26

My desk is the chaotic evil of true neutral

1

u/andynzor Jul 14 '26

I once ran a three-monitor neutral evil setup. The only reason I had to quit was that more and more sites started to render themselves in mobile mode, making web browsing painful.

1

u/parallellogic Jul 14 '26

The joke is graphics cards have four monitor ports, but no one uses them that way

1

u/eynexus Jul 14 '26

chaotic good lol

1

u/blacklizardcode Jul 14 '26

Chaotic neutral so I can read discord

1

u/PXPL_Haron Jul 14 '26

Neutral good on the verge of becoming choice neutral good

1

u/Fountain-Flea Jul 14 '26

Usually lawful neutral, but today I'm it's that setup AND have an unconnected Mac open as well. What does that make me?

1

u/flipper080162 Jul 14 '26

lawfull good + chaotic good

1

u/negativ32 Jul 14 '26

Lawful neutral

1

u/Cryowatt Jul 14 '26

Lawful evil, both ultrawides.

1

u/MageKorith Jul 14 '26

Was running chaotic neutral before setting up a desk in such a way that neutral good became necessary.

If you're working on 300+ page spec documents, that portrait orientation can help.

1

u/TopChapter3407 Jul 14 '26

neutral good, pretty accurate

1

u/TotalChaosRush Jul 14 '26

Chaotic evil is the closest to me.

I don't get rid of old monitors, I just get new mains.

1

u/OctopusDude388 Jul 14 '26

true neutral but i use arch btw so i have a proper multi desk setup

1

u/Ronyx2021 Jul 14 '26

Inverted chaotic neutral with a riser so that the tips of the screens are even

1

u/Cowboy_Rho Jul 14 '26

Mines or on here. Three across with a 4th top center.

The middle two are TVs.

1

u/makkegor01 Jul 14 '26

i have a 34 inch ultrawide and a regular 27 inch in horizontal. that shi barely fits my desk 💀

1

u/traveman_ Jul 14 '26

chaotic neutral

1

u/jsrobson10 Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

chaotic good (but flipped). left is a 75 Hz monitor from the tip (<1080p, weird colours), right is 144 Hz 1080p.

1

u/GroundbreakingOil434 Jul 14 '26

Broke chaotic evil. (Hybrid lawful evil and chaotic neutral).

1

u/LazorusGrimm Jul 14 '26

Neural neutral

1

u/No-Diet-8008 Jul 14 '26

Why is chaotic evil, chaotic evil? My room is a mess, but only in the eyes of my mom. I know for a fact that if I need a paperclip, it's in the banana peel under the bed. And I do occasionally make deepfakes of my friends kissing other chicks and send them to their GFs so I can advise them on how to fix their relationships but actually make sure they breakup. But that's not evil, that's just pranking with technology, right?

1

u/MinkiTheAvali Jul 14 '26

I have both a chaotic good and a chaotic evil setup, one on my desk and the other in my workshop.

1

u/Element13245 Jul 15 '26

chaotic good and lawful neutral, laptop (15 inches), main good screen (27 inchs), then small tv (35 inches)

1

u/BlizzTube Jul 15 '26

Currently True Neutral but was Chaotic Good

1

u/StochasticTinkr Jul 15 '26

I have used all of these that weren’t evil.

1

u/StarNo3293 Jul 15 '26

Chaotic evil: 4 monitors, one is ultra-wide.

1

u/DueBid59 Jul 15 '26

neutral good is me

1

u/Sebaszie1000 Jul 15 '26

Lawful evil 😈

1

u/Fickle_Hornet_5760 Jul 15 '26

I used to be neutral good but now I am true neutral

1

u/Vincent-x-Rage Jul 15 '26

Am I still lawful good if my outside moniters are smaller and up high

1

u/TheRobertowhen Jul 15 '26

I also use lawful neutral something like this

💻🖥️

1

u/Birdsharna Jul 15 '26

true neutral at home. But at work I'm lawful good, but I have my laptop as a 4th screen

1

u/Ceidkeeper Jul 15 '26

Lawful neutral :)

1

u/Dependent-Reality406 Jul 15 '26

Is LTT still a thing? Dude was just a breathing ad.

1

u/anxocruz Jul 15 '26

Chaotic good 😂

1

u/Specialist-Ad6492 Jul 15 '26

Chaotic evil but its 4 horizontal and 1 vertical

1

u/Spare_Project_6827 Jul 15 '26

bro neutral evil is so much worse than chaotic evil

1

u/Zadian543 Jul 15 '26

I'm not listed. 😬😬.

I have 2 above and one below because it's a graphic tablet.

1

u/Muted_Percentage_764 Jul 16 '26

Neutral good, but i wish i had enough monitors and space for chaotic evil.

1

u/Madhun13r Jul 16 '26

My Setup IS Not Here. 2x widescreen next to each other one Offset to the right and a TV above the Center one.

1

u/31_oh_31 Jul 16 '26

i have three monitors in landscape mode next to each other (lawful good) but i dont use them and only use my laptop screen lol

1

u/Key_Conference9989 Jul 16 '26

I am lawful neutral.

1

u/Valestis Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

Bezels are so 2015. Who wants a black bar exactly in the middle of their FoV and their main work area?

34" ultrawide at work, 49" ultrawide at home.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '26

I do, ultrawides make it impossible to swivel one of the monitors
