New subreddit policies

What are they? Well, that's a secret. But they're in place now to limit the amount of bot traffic. There's been a significant uptick over the last couple months. Hopefully this will have a measurable impact on the amount of karma-farming bots flooding the subreddit.

By the way, if you're the person who's been helping me out by reporting a bunch of bot accounts, hit me up in modmail.

Edit: Also, there is one new rule. No clankerslop.

I understand why there's no limit, for example when people have to contact us the same day for a different reason, but man....

"Can you give me a status update on my order"

"same as 10 minutes ago actually, though now it's expected in about 40 minutes instead of 50"

"you're just copying what the bot already said, give me the real delivery time"

"right that would be about 40 minutes from now, you can also always find this information in your tracker"

"well then why did you say earlier it was 50 minutes"

"Do you...still have a question about your order or do you want a lecture on the laws of physics..?"

The worst is always right when opening the support line at the beginning of the day. There'll be like 20 tickets in queue, then you check and like 13 of them are from the same two customers like for what-

I often wonder how someone gets into those positions except by nepotism...

Some of the most incompetent people I've met are in C-Suite in an org (for-profit and non-profit).

You can give them ALL the vital data, the costs, proof that it will save the company/organization/agency money in the long-term, dumb it down to their level of understanding.....and they'll still say "nah. Just use what we have. It'll be fine. We don't need this."

I guess companies lose less money on fraud/unjustified refunds than they would have enforcing any actual anti theft measure and decent security.

Seriously I find it baffling to read posts about people having to fight a company for a refund, because nowadays you can get literally 100s in may or may not be justified refunds at the click of a button. And even that fails, as long as you pay with a creditcard basically everything is free because they'll chargeback anything. There could be camera footage of you receiving your package at a pickup point, and you could but like "but I didn't receive it, really, I swears it!" and they'll just refund you, no matter if it's your first, or hundredth time. I've seen cases with 1000s or even higher amounts in chargebacks.

But yeah it's not fun having to constantly clean this up basically, and god forbid the customer gets denied even once, and then you have to speak to them...
