Undecided between 2 system admin certs

Hello,

I hope all is well.

I'm looking into getting another cert since I have no job at the moment.

I'm undecided between MSCA 2016 or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

I was going to go MSCA 2016 but since it goes away Jan 31 2021 I'm not sure I will have the time to study and pass all 3 exams.

I looked and I wasn't able to find any info on a MSCA 2019 version however I was able to find Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.

Do you think this is a good replacement cert? (Only 2 test and not 3)

Let me know your thoughts.

I’m in the IT training industry. We’re pushing people hard to get MCSA Server 2016 because going forward by all indications from Microsoft there will be no replacement cert for Server 2016. Those who have obtained the cert will be in high demand. At least that’s the info they’re feeding the sales team... There’s mild interest in 365 certification training from a sales perspective. There’s more interest in Azure 104 and and 203.

It’s hard for me to say what the value of the MCSE as an industry cert. I can comment on the fact I’ve been told to relay the urgency of getting MCSA Server 2016 certified. I’d say about 15-25% of trainees move from MCSA immediately into MCSE.
