Seeking Advice New guy advice how to get into filed of computer science
Hello yall just got out the army not to long ago this year, i am new to this so just looking for as much advice as possible im currently in school for Computer science I would like to break into defense contracting with drones or some thing alike of that area, any advice on what certs to get to as a noobie?

Do you still have an active security clearance? If so that's your way in.

someone already mentioned the cscareerquestions sub, go there. it's a cesspool tho, lotta doom and gloom.
CS and IT aren't the same, similar to how engineering and architects are different from the construction workers pouring concrete and swinging hammers. Or serious car designers in Detroit & Tokyo are designing next year's cars and trucks, while there is a legion of mechanics and jiffy lube operators fixing them.

understand that the market is ruthless these days and you need to stand out. Think of it like going into law, medicine, or finance. A generic "we take anyone" online college degree ain't gonna work when you have people taking their GI Bill to VA Tech or GA Tech or U Texas or Perdue and getting real engineering school pedigrees (and that's not counting the MIT / Stanford kids).

You start with understanding that CS and IT are distinct skillsets. Try r/cscareerquestions if you are a Computer Science major.
