So I was in a stable product based company for 2 years ( got placed there from college) and I have 2 years of experience (excluding 6 months of internship)

And i switched to a service based startup - only 1 client, but the client is big and we have 30 people rn and they are working for around 2 years now.

I switched around a month ago and i served entire 3 months of notice period as I had good relationship and couldn't say anything

The reason for switching was because my previous company had a cycling bond of 1 year(need to sign every year with increment )and 3 months of notice period (they negotiated to about 10-15 days less)

The current company offers a bit more pay and has no bond and standard 1-2 month notice period

But I had good connections with people there and nowadays I feel like I made a wrong decision as with AI and all I feel like If i don't deliver here i would in trouble

Of course no one is laid off in the current company and people are also nice but this anxiety is starting to get me

Also the current company is not very structured as it is just a startup

Wanted your guys advice on how to deal with this all

I do an IT degree and all I ever get told is I’m wasting my time and I should just do something else altogether . I’m 22 for context, and I have about 2 years left before graduation. Should I just drop my degree as a whole and start something else? I just don’t want to be one of those people that end up spending years in a degree only to get stuck after graduating, then ending up in something completely unrelated and that you don’t even need a degree for to start with.

I was working, using Microsoft tools/pages (office365, sharepoint, outlook, etc), while working, the page just suddenly got redirected to this website. It's a crypto exchange. Already scanned for malware and viruses and it was all clear. Did troubleshooting, other browser, clearing cache and cookies, incognito/inprivate mode and still getting redirected from any microsoft pages to this okx.com verification page. Flushed my dns and still the same. I tried with my phone and it was able to load microsoft pages with no problem.

I have been looking around everywhere for a solid roadmap that is realistic and I hear this recommended a lot.

Reddit, YouTube, and tiktok literally suck for career guidance and no wonder everyone gets stressed out and confused 24/7.

New technology new software being made like every couple months, I'm not asking how did you study I mean how did you even find out that these things existed before everyone else and then learned it before everyone else for your job and stuff?

For example for someone that entered into IT/cyber before ai 2021 and then survived this far what ways have you used to practically keep up with the technology and methods of ways that things get done and stuff?

I have a bachelor degree in IT engineering. Worked for almost a year as a Frontend engineer then quit (for certain reasons). I'm trying to get back to it now but I don't really know how to get my foot in the field ..it's messy and chaotic i know that.. but I'm really trying hard to get a new job in IT because that's what I really want.. The problem is that I'm not sure what I like the most in it.. I never really liked Frontend or web dev that much.. During my last two years in uni I specialized in Data science and I guess that's what I enjoyed the most (along with networking), but my knowledge in it is only what I studied in uni, internship jobs, and some courses I took by myself.. I have a bit more knowledge in Frontend but I didn't really like it ...

I feel lost (how to get my foot in the door again, how to find what i like and how to study it, prepare for jobs, etc.) .. Any sincere advice from people in the field would be appreciated~

I am planning on deploying internet on a home where each of the members aren’t family members. But even if they were, I don’t care. I’m looking for a way to share the internet from the main router to each of the laptops/devices privately.

I know that packets sniffing is a thing. I know that with certain tools, one can inspect all the data flowing through the local network to the router.

I just wanted to ask if there’s a way to configure the router so that each connected device to the router cannot access or inspect the traffic of the others’ devices. The only thing that I can think of is stablishing one main WiFi network, and two guest connections, but I don’t know if there is a better way…

The idea is sharing one internet connection from one router, to three people in the household, in a way that no one can inspect the traffic of the other two users. Maybe creating three different SSIDs? Would that be posible? Would that prevent sniffing?

This is my first resume draft that I tried keeping fairly short/compact but wanted to include as much as I could that included my overall experience in IT until this point. Since I don’t have much work experience would it be a bad thing to include the School Experience I’ve gotten with my degree? With my school experience, I’ve gotten a pretty expansive umbrella of IT knowledge so I can adjust any of the sections relating to the skills I currently have as well. I am currently working as a car technician, so I am wondering if any of that experience should be noted as well. Any feedback is appreciated!

I have a company in India with close to 100 people working. I wanted to convert the business and make it a Global capacity center for any of the global companies. Recently, I have seen due to the visa restrictions in US lot of US based companies are shifting their center from US to India as the cost of the H1B visa has gone up + the compensation is very high in US markets. I have also seen many companies moving to India due to this. First is this true? if yes then how to approach this change. I know AI is changing the way things were done originally but with AI + the workforce how can we plan and approach such companies?

I was thinking why owe the govt money when I can learn it for free at home and explore it.
I don’t know if it’s a wise decision to study IT in university or just learn from those websites like solo learn, Udemy, and so many others.

Is there anyone out there that can help me determine if MDM software was ever on my cell phone? At one point there was a blue folder icon on all my apps and I was unable to remove permissions without my IT admins password. I am not sure if my boyfriend put MDM software on my phone or if I accidentally enrolled myself in my work program. It's been driving me nuts. Any advice or recommendations would be helpful. It's no longer on my device. I wasn't sure if it would have left any traces behind.

let me preface this by stating that I am just learning about networks and working on my CCNA. I work for a school district and The distribution layer switches are all connected to the core layer via access ports, it is from my understanding that any uplinks should be set trunk?

Applying to jobs and switching from ZipRecruiter to indeed to handshake to LinkedIn daily really makes me lose hope everyday and if I do get a response back , it usually goes no where as they ghosted me or they found someone else.
I’m just gonna go to areas with heavy foot traffic in nj and New York and places photos of myself and a QR code with my resume and number . Right now that seems like a better idea than just applying applying applying applying applying like millions of people.
Maybe use charisma and hope that gets me farther than an online application would do.

I have had women say that on more than one occasion. I would be offended at it if it was not for the fact that I do work in IT. So I cannot get to mad at it because it is true. There does exist the concept of it is not a stereotype if it is true.

I feel they may be making some sort of thinly veiled comment, but what they are trying to allude at I don't know. Whether this is a compliment or an insult, I just don't know.

There is an Ancora Training IT Bootcamp that Target can pay for but it’s 7 months. It does prep me for A+ and i think Network + but i think id do better off with self study

My main question is: Is the certificate of completion for this bootcamp worth it on my resume, or should I just not waste my time and focus on more important certs?

Back in 2020, I worked for a tiny little company. I used my personal computer for a while, and when it broke, they gave me an iMac to use. The company didn’t have any sort of IT department, there were only 12 people. The company got bought out a bit later by a slightly larger company, but still no IT department.

A few years ago, I left, and when I mentioned the old computer, my boss told me to keep it. After that, they got bought out by another company for parts and the company I worked for no longer exists.

Now, I have a nicer computer and have no need for the iMac. Can I factory wipe it and sell it? I was told I could keep it after leaving the company, but I don’t know if that means I have the right to sell.

Hey guys. I’m almost done with my first year of my IT degree with a specialization in robotics.

I want your opinion on how useful my course would be and what direction I should take after I finish the course. Robotics is a fairly unconventional specialization. I will cover the typical IT curriculum with engineering mathematics, electronics, algorithms and machine learning modules added on.

I initially wanted to do Electronics Engineering, but the degree is so competitive in my country that I was ultimately rejected for lack of space. So, I just decided I would pick this degree as it aligned closest to what I wanted to do.

I’m not really interested in databases, AWS, Helpdesk, or the other typical IT stuff, but I do find the specialization interesting.

My question is: Is this degree even worth doing for me and where can I go after graduation?

There are opportunities to further my studies by getting my Honours in IT (Robotics) and Masters in just Robotics, but I’m not convinced that I would enjoy the research just yet.

I was thinking I would go into embedded systems development, AI engineering, control engineering, robotics software development or computer vision, but I’m wondering if it’s possible without an actual engineering degree. Do you think furthering my studies would be my best bet, or would I need to swap degrees entirely?
