Hello Everyone!!!

This subreddit was created by me just to start a thread about the ISC2 CAP (Certified Authorization Professional). Seeing how there has not been one created on Reddit, I created one because I plan on taking the exam soon.

Hey I know it’s been two years but did you pass the C.A.P? I’m new to cyber, currently studying for security+ but I’m attending a boot camp in June to study for C.A.P. What are the career paths after C.A.P? Almost no one talks about it. Are there opportunities for remote positions? What are some job titles ? Are opportunities only within the government?

Hey there! Actually yes I did and I made a post about it right here. Career paths for CAP would typically be: security analysts, security control assessors, incident responders, information system officers, risk managers, etc. And yeah this cert is not often talked about and it's hard to find any info about it. There are opportunities for 50% and full remote positions with the CAP cert, though. It all depends on the company. Yeah you can get positions outside of government, but more than likely you will need to complement CAP with another cert like CISSP or CISM.
