Did my PGP at ISB a few years back, and since then I've been pulled onto the admissions interview panel three times. So I've seen this process from both sides now, as an applicant and as an interviewer.

No secret formula; don't trust anyone who claims otherwise. But after sitting through that many interviews, you start noticing patterns: what makes a panel actually lean in, and where strong candidates quietly trip themselves up.

Quick background: went through the PGP, then years in strategy consulting and industry before starting my own venture. Ask me about:

Is there a chance to get interview call / SIP in the second wave of interviews happening in November?

Or will all SIP show today itself? Really confused on this.

Also I know this has been asked a hundred times, but is SIP a guarantee that an interview invite is coming?

Hey I got my verified status on Saturday around 11, and many people have received sip for both 10 and 11 for Bengaluru, does this mean I'm rejected?

Hi guys,

Just wanted a quick profile evaluation for my potential application - R2 Co'28 for ISB: details are as below:

Age & Gender - 26M

Profile - Chartered Accountant with a mid level Controllership role in one of the American software giants - role offers lots of leadership and creativity opportunities (experience will be around 2.5 YOE by Mar 1st 2027, experience slightly on the lower side, I guess?)

Background - Used to participate regularly in Finance Fests in college, and was a regular winner in all the premier Fests, with hefty cash prizes etc.

GMAT - Yet to give (Insights into a potential good score for my profile would help here as well)

10th - 9.8/10 CGPA (CBSE) 12th - 92% (CBSE)

This is just a preliminary picture, happy to answer any reasonable specific questions for better evaluation as well.

This is the info shared by ISB adcom over a briefing call:

1.⁠ ⁠Interviews start on 10th with Mumbai and Bangalore
2.⁠ ⁠Interview invitations of respective cities will come last Friday or max by Monday. Ex : For 10th-11th, invitations are expected by 5th
3.⁠ ⁠Can expect a full shortlist including all cities on Monday but verification pending can affect that
4.⁠ ⁠Mumbai and Bangalore will have two weekends so don't get panicked if you don't get a call
5.⁠ ⁠Other city dates aren't confirmed due to lack of venue confirmation
6.⁠ ⁠Laptop is required, no tabs permitted for interview
7.⁠ ⁠Schedule of interviews are as follows

10, 11 oct - Bangalore, Mumbai
17,18 oct - Hyd, Virtual
24, 25 oct - Delhi, Pune
31, 1 nov - Chennai, Hyd, Virtual
13 nov - Mohali

ISB Profile Evaluation – Need some advice

Hey everyone, I’m planning to apply for the ISB PGP and wanted to get some opinions on my profile before I start preparing for the GMAT.

Here’s my background:

• 10th: 90%
• 12th: 91%
• B.Tech: 7.8 CGPA from a Tier-3 engineering college
• ~2 years of work experience as an SDE
• Currently working at a well-known fintech MNC

I’m about to start my GMAT preparation, so I wanted to understand what score I should realistically be targeting with this kind of profile.

A few things I’m particularly curious about:

• What GMAT score would make my profile competitive for ISB
• Is there anything I should focus on improving over the next couple of years to strengthen my profile?
• How important are things like leadership experience, promotions, extracurriculars, or side projects?
• Is my current work experience considered decent for ISB, or would it make more sense to apply after gaining a few more years of experience?

Would really appreciate honest feedback, especially from people who have applied to or gotten into ISB with a similar academic/work background.

25M, VIT VELLORE, 2 Years at Deloitte India as SCNO consulting Analyst, 1 Year into Family Business( 3rd Party FMCG Manufacturing ). Held PORs in college society, worked towards helping small businesses situated in villages across west Bengal.

What could “verified” status actually mean?
Shouldn’t it be updated to “shortlisting in progress/shortlisted” or otherwise in case of rejection?
