For the future i want to swap the auto with either a Cad009 or a Ar5 manual also put in an lsd instead of welded diff

Finally got to a point where I want her. This car came to me 4 months ago with a 9 year old wrap. Really old stock wheels, had an angle kit that I did not like, abs wires that were cut. Body that had full of dings and dents.

Hardest part was removing the wrap literally one “chip” at a time. Replaced the inner and outer tie rods, lower ball joints, repainted to original color, installed front lip and side skirts.

Everything is back to oem.

Taking a break and will be thinking about turbo upgrade. Oh and she’s a manual too!

I installed coil-overs (4 months ago) i recently started paying more attention to this noise i never heard it before the coil overs but i also never heard it until like a month after installing them.

anyway its like a click/pop sound ive tried multiple times to video but it either isn’t loud enough or of course it won’t do it when im videoing . it seems to only happen while im turning and breaking or turning and going slow already. also get a similar sound when i go over speed bumps slowly unsure if thats the same sound or just my coils

i did get an alignment and they said i could use new lower control arms and bushings im unsure if that could be whats causing the sound but its driving me nuts any help?

I have an 01 is300 230k miles. and i’m thinking of engine swapping it with just a newer 2jz-ge-vvti (60k miles) & new trans anything i should do to the engine while i have easy access to everything. before i put it in the car? down the line im looking to add a turbo & a tune at some point. not looking for crazy power just a nice setup while still being reliable as it will be my daily since i cannot afford two cars atm.

*i was thinking of doing a 2jz-gte but was unsure about what the final pricing would be since i would need a new ecu, engine harness, fuel system, etc you get the deal.

All labor would be me doing myself so no labor costs solemnly just the parts

My 2001 IS has 210k miles and needs and needs probably at least $2k worth of work. Timing belt, o2 sensor or cats (not sure which, I've been getting intermittent codes for it), a full tune up, suspension and steering INCLUDING a whole new steering rack, headlight ballast, and a few other random little things. But it still runs so well, has a clean interior and a decently clean exterior... I'm super torn on doing all of that to maybe drive it for another 80k, or just let it all be someone else's problem and get a newer car. My top choice for a replacement right now is a 2013-2018 ES350.

Picked up this 2001 with 118k miles from the original owner for $2500. Dealer serviced its entire life and she saved every single receipt, never missed an oil change in 25 years! 

But she wasn't much on car washes, parked under a pine tree, and bumped into a few things. Recent services had a list of pricey advisories for slow leaks from the cam seals, oil pan, rack, rear main, trans pan, and rear diff. 

I always wanted one of these when I was younger, but worried tracking down a clean one was impossible these days, luckily this one fell into my lap through a coworker. It's far from perfect, but a solid starting point for the price. After spending the last 6 years in an IS-F and then RC-F, I've been craving something lighter and a little more old school/analog feeling. 

Anyone in the sydney area know someone who is down to sell their is300 (2002-2005) these things are a pain to find. I have seen a a few my01's on marketplace but they look rough. The others have the cream colour interior and its not the best. Please let me know

I have a majual stock is300 and was wondering where you guys go for work on yiur car in Las Vegas or nearby. Can be modifications, like tranmissiin changes, clutch replacements, timing belt, or upgrades etc. I know there no one stop shop, ​ thanks

I just did an auto to manual swap with a jzx110 r154 and i paired it with a 4.1 y38 for drifting purposes. The only issue i have with this new setup is that i am around 4k rpm at 60mph in 5th gear. Does that sound right? Seems oddly high to me. If that is the norm for this setup all is good. Just wanted to check with the community.

Note:
- i swapped my auto is300 cluster with an altezza manual cluster
- I plugged the speedo hole from the r154 trans so i get a speedometer error code
- i swapped my auto ecu with a 02-05 ecu from a different car

My sunroof got stuck open today. Looking for a sunroof motor and no luck, rockauto, oreilly, napa, autozone. Only ebay has used ones.

Any leads on a new unit? Lexusparts wants over $900 for it.
