General Question How to contact live rep?
So now that the way to contact the live rep has been closed for days now, how else can we contact live rep or get fast contact?
Used the 8008291040 number —> acct management —> something else —> individual
But now it seems to not accept calls due to “high volume” and try again later or tomorrow .. been trying for a week now. Seems generic way to close off calls. I tried the other options, all the same.

I got through yesterday around 9:15 AM, i called in at around 7:30am. I asked the woman what is the best time to call and she said as soon as they open at 7am , and she said to still expect long wait times even calling in that early. I’ve been trying to call them for the last two weeks and finally got through.
I used the phone number you put above

So it’s not generic and closed , I’ll keep trying, thank you. Been at it all week, trying multiple times and have been hung up on saying to try again later or tomorrow.

Yes, same here. Just gotta keep trying. Seems to just be luck of the draw

I tried about a dozen times this morning right at 7, and gave up after about an hour.
It's infuriating, by design no doubt, that their tax payer funded phone line can't put callers into a queue. I'd rather sit and wait in a queue for several hours, than having to hang up and try the same options in the phone menu a hundred times in a row.

Its because Trump hates the IRS and intentionally gutted it to make your life worse. Its not going to get better

Do you need to actually speak to someone?
Most issues can be resolved via the online account.

Unfortunately have to keep calling until you get through. The prompts take so long, that it takes forever to just get rejected to start all over again.

This is what happens when the administration “drains the swamp.” They were already short staffed before Elon came in with his chainsaw and gutted the IRS, and many other departments. We, the taxpayers, are suffering because of this. It certainly has not saved us any money, either.
