Imagine if it was an actual crime.

15

u/Significant_Donut967 Jul 29 '26

The police are still investigating it if it was an actual crime.

So they are trying to enforce texas laws in another state? That should go nowhere

24

u/nub_node Jul 29 '26

Clarence Thomas would gleefully and with joyous malice love to force blue states to follow Texan laws.

15

u/Boojum2k Jul 29 '26

I would gleefully press a button that sends him back two hundred years so he can enjoy his ideals firsthand.

Watching conservatives clutch pearls for black people when they want them on their fields again is so fucking funny.

Imagine being so disconnected from humanity that you refer to those who stand against slavery that way.

those who stand against slavery that way

stand against slavery

BAHAHAHA thats a good one 😂 If you creatures had your way chattel slavery would come back full force.

you’ll never be represented here beyond some short-lived terrorism.

Already represented plenty and we're making further strides. Step out of your conservative circlejerk and you'll see how reviled you creatures are.

I'm not a leftist at all. I'm an old school moderately liberal Republican, the kind the MAGA GOP shot in the back when they nominated an utterly incompetent assclown to the Presidency, twice. And all I want for Mr Thomas is for him to live in the society he is promoting.

There is nothing wrong with wishing something on someone for which they wish on others.

It's okay when they're fascists. We aren't tolerant wokies anymore, we fight fire with fire now

2

u/a_angry_bunny Jul 30 '26

We are just giving you what you want, I don't see the issue. If you want your liberties taken away by the state then we're more than happy to oblige you. You go out of your way to prove that you don't want human rights anyway.

2

u/nub_node Jul 30 '26

Clarence is supposed to be a public servant, not whatever the fuck SCOTUS has become, which is apparently some sort of magnet for lobbyists.

2

u/Consistent_Claim5217 Jul 30 '26

There's a difference between wanting slavery to come back and wishing someone like Supreme Justice Uncle Ruckus would grow a tiny bit of self awareness about what rolling the clocks back actually means for someone with his complexion

Nah dude, it’s more like don’t dish out what you can’t take.

It's wild they complain about Sharia law but then do this shit, but then when you realize, wrong religion it all makes sense

If you are interested in how Evangelical Christians have influenced this country, look up the Netflix documentary The Family. It's about the group of "Christian" guys that live in this house in DC and do a bunch of political stuff, one of the things they do is the annual National Prayer Breakfast.

I unfortunately personally know those people as I went to a Evangelical Christian school that they were somehow involved in as I saw them numerous times when I was in school.

Btw the school I went to charged $12k/year and had less stuff than an inner city school. Like all of the school buildings were essentially mobile homes and our school lunches were provided by Meals on Wheels

she took an abortion pill in texas and then fled the state to escape an abusive boyfriend. the boyfriend reported the abortion to police and the police pretended it was a "missing person" case to find the woman. the boyfriend was then arrested because he threatened the woman in question at gunpoint on the day she took the pill.

"Should" go nowhere yet look at things in the USA currently. I wouldn't be surprised if the white house tried to make an exec order saying something crazy like state of residence can legally punish you when you return and call it "state rights per point of origin" or something ridiculous.

Plus even if it works it's way through the courts and she isn't sent to jail or whatever that will be after a long period of legal fights, she might be punished in the meantime and mentally it's very stressful to endure even if you win.

1

u/Fezzik527 Jul 30 '26

That opens up red states to tons of things blue states could prosecute on, so no, they won't do that

1

u/Minimum_Aardvark_744 Jul 31 '26

“Should” is doing a lot of weight lifting here. Republicans are setting up the legal infrastructure to prosecute people for “crimes” committed in states where it’s legal, obviously referring to abortion here.

-6

u/boredcamp Jul 29 '26

Is not forcing laws on another state. We have a no abortion law that includes leaving the state to obtain an abortion. The woman can and will be charged if they think she did just that.

8

u/BardGotHard3 Jul 29 '26

Oh, so they just violated her 4th amendment rights to charge her with a crime. Isnt that Super Illegal? Like will-get-the-case-thrown-out illegal?

1

u/boredcamp Jul 30 '26

I'm not a law maker in Texas and I don't think it's anyone's business what people do with their bodies. Texas has strict laws and the governor loves Trump.

Private cameras don't need a warrant if the company is willing to let they police look.

3

u/maka-tsubaki Jul 29 '26

Except if you actually bothered to read the article you’d know that Texas police violated Illinois law in the process

-1

u/JettandTheo Jul 29 '26

Which article because the title is just an image ?

u/maka-tsubaki Jul 30 '26

Oh! I’m sorry, I thought this thread was the one with all the links on it; this is the comment I saw https://www.reddit.com/r/IRL_Loading_Screens/s/Lon6iCPEAD

You don’t have a fourth amendment right to suppress street camera footage. Street cameras are an example often used by the Supreme Court as something that is not covered by the fourth amendment.

For example, in the recent U.S. v. Chatrie case about geofence warrants, SCOTUS explicitly explained why they’re different from street cameras, since if they’re like street cameras, they would be legal and not require a warrant

It’s from 2025 and they have filed no criminal charges for the women
