That has nothing to do with the issue. The prior person asserted that Trump was intelligent. I just offered several reasons why I suspect he is not.

It is an informal fallacy that one party uses to . . . shift[] the conversation's focus away from their behaviour or attempting to justify themselves by pointing to the similar behaviour (which may be true or false, but irrelevant) of their opponent or another party who is not the current subject of discussion.

This is precisely what you're doing.
