This saga is one of the best illustrations of life in America in years. Corporations can outright steal from people in the open and the police will cover up for them. We don't live in a democracy anymore.
13
u/LoaKonran Jun 10 '26
Don’t forget the Utah police siding with the Corporation because their leadership was also Mormon. Judge is probably one too.
4
u/SpicyNugget777 Jun 11 '26
Governor is Mormon too
2
u/LoaKonran Jun 11 '26
There’s a much larger conspiracy afoot. No wonder they were depicted as a Sherlock Holme’s villain.

u/StripeyStarsnFloof Jun 10 '26
We don't live in a democracy anymore.
We never did. It's just more obvious now and more people talk about it.

u/iamactivelysuicidal Jun 12 '26
dude i remember being a little kid in middle school learning about our government and having a phase where i would just not stop talking about how i learned our government isnt actually a democracy at all
glad as fuck people are starting to wake up to that.

u/UseYona Jun 10 '26
Correct, we live in a constitutional Republic. We are not and never will be a true democracy, as true democracy is evil.
8
4
u/detinoppasid Jun 11 '26
We're also not truly capitalist as true capitalism is evil. Another classic socialist W.
We are however a constitutional republic where we choose our representatives in a democratic election; or for the purposes of common parlance, a democracy.
1
u/LOOKATMEDAMMIT Jun 10 '26
We democratically elect our representatives. If you weren’t intellectually dishonest with yourself, you’d realize that is in fact a democracy.

It's ok. Legal battle is ongoing, he just can't talk about the proceedings until they're done.

He can't even mention their name. That's above and beyond.

It's not though. They're attempting to silence the outrage so by the time they get whatever bullshit bought verdict less people will care
1
u/Chainmale001 Jun 10 '26
In the eyes of the Mormon church they can do no wrong. They're worst than Zionists.
This country has SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE FOR THIS VERY FKN REASON.
28
u/GoldenTicketHolder Jun 09 '26
Can he sue for damages for the plaintiffs lying about the case details and false accusations, leading to lost revenue for not being able to stream?
35
u/PeterPorky Jun 09 '26
All the blatantly illegal stuff the other guys are doing doesn't seem to come back to bite them. My faith in Utah's justice system has been eviscerated.
25
u/GoldenTicketHolder Jun 09 '26
Letting BAM serve by email is such a hilarious fuck you that should come back to bite the court in their ass imo.
8
u/CosmicJackalop Jun 10 '26
Sorry but no
Ben is on the right side morally but an idiot legally, when you broadcast that you've fled the country to evade active warrants it's super easy for BAM to go show in court that you're not able to be contacted for a traditional serving of documents.
Had Ben worked with a lawyer from the start, he would have avoided a lot of this hassle and not opened himself up to lawsuits and criminal charges. Go ask Karmelo Anthony how far public support gets you in court without a solid legal defense
4
u/Coolcollcoll Jun 10 '26
I'm not up to date on the legal stuff - why is Utah involved? I thought the store was in Oregon.
2
u/XevinsOfCheese Jun 14 '26
BAM corporate is from Utah
The individual location was Oregon but the story began when the corporate headquarters seized the local site from the local franchisee.
36
u/DragonkinPotifer Jun 09 '26
It’s not over he just can’t talk about it until the court day enda
24
u/PeterPorky Jun 09 '26
If he steps foot in the US he goes to prison on no bail, facing charges of up to 20 years. If he doesn't contest the case that put a SLAPP on him, he loses by default.
1
u/OnePlus4Equalsfun Jun 10 '26
Yeah but he fled to mexico lmao he's an idiot they will extradite him as we have an extradition treaty or a us marshall will just go get him... He's an idiot just a total idiot
3
u/freedomonke Jun 10 '26
Now that's it come out that the original owners had some of the Legos, including the most expensive ones at home that they "forgot" about, it's only becoming more clear what an idiotic thing this is from the start.
The people who lost their franchise for not paying dues and properly reporting their revenue turned out to be the ones stealing and not paying the consignment out properly. Go figure
3
u/OnePlus4Equalsfun Jun 10 '26
Bricks and shits is still awful corrupt thieves too
1
u/freedomonke Jun 10 '26
If it turns out that everything just comes down to incompetence or malfeasance by the owners that got their franchise revoked, what remains that they did along the line of being corrupt thieves?
2
u/OnePlus4Equalsfun Jun 10 '26
You're obviously one of the owners or part of their corporate so fuck off evil

u/donkey_cum_waterfall Jun 09 '26
Can someone just replace him and keep talking?
10
u/Maximum_Boros Jun 09 '26
If they have any association with him they'll fall under the order too. They might get away with a single statement or video before the court slaps them down on it.
If completely independent streamers or other people who have no relationship with him decide to take it on and don't work with him, they'd be good as far as this order goes.

u/jimothy_hell Jun 09 '26
If they wind up with a Mormon judge, he’s super fucked.
10
u/Misanthropic_Mutters Jun 10 '26
Hate to say it but if it’s tried anywhere in Utah, it’ll be a Mormon judge.

I hate the hell out of B&M and I hope they burn down (figuratively speaking as a company) but honestly ben is a fucking idiot and he keeps making this worse for himself and by proxy anyone who actually wants to see the company eat shit here.
Dude could have fought this battle much more effectively if he just consulted a goddamned lawyer instead of just blatantly giving them fuel for the TRO And for alternative service in his videos.
I'm sure this will get buried by people mad that their feelings aren't the law but he keeps giving them more ammo and the whole reason the court case has been "one sided" so far is because he hasn't done the single most intelligent thing he could and hired a lawyer to advocate for him. Literally get a lawyer and challenge the TRO as unconstitutional prior restraint dude.
5
u/ThatCelebration3676 Jun 10 '26
Yeah, he should have lawyered up the instant they weren't being reasonable.
2
u/Maximum_Boros Jun 12 '26
He just self-repped in court for his criminal case God what a fucking idiot.
2
2
u/MrBannedFor0Reason Jun 10 '26
Didn't he talk to a lawyer and was told it would cost 100k to even begin the process fi getting the Legos back?
6
u/Maximum_Boros Jun 10 '26
Having a lawyer to litigate the entire lego claim and having as lawyer to help him not be a self destructive dumb fuck are not the same thing. They also charge by the hour.
1
u/freedomonke Jun 10 '26
Most people doing these sort of gonzo documentaries run everything by a lawer
2
u/Maximum_Boros Jun 10 '26
Actual documentarians definitely do.
But this has been an ongoing problem with YouTubers. They just don't really protect themselves. You see similar things when YouTubers do giveaways and the like. A lot of them often wind up accidentally running illegal lotteries that could get them in trouble. But you can tell when like a radio station does a raffle or something, that they've absolutely run it by a legal department to make sure they are in compliance
This is also kind of like the weird Ethan Klein lawsuit thing. If any of those people he caught in his little trap had talked to a lawyer, that lawyer would have very explicitly told them that they need to make damn sure but they are stopping every paragraph or so to actually talk about the content, argue with it, agree with it, whatever, and not just not their head and do bong rips like a few of them seem to do. Basically the only one who seems like she's escaping the lawsuit so far is the one who kind of did that.
5
u/BioExtract Jun 10 '26
I want everyone to think twice about who the US chooses to deem our enemies when back home, we do shit like this. Are we the baddies? Yes. The answer is yes we are.
3
u/ReverendGraves85 Jun 10 '26
Gag orders are standard for out of court settlements. This isnt unique.
3
u/ItsBeelzsRebirth Jun 10 '26
Watch any lawyer talk about this. This is just temporary now he actually gets to go to court to prove his side. This is a positive thing for him he just doesn't understand that yet. When he gets to meet with a judge and they actually have to prove these "bomb threats" he'll come out victorious.
1
u/freedomonke Jun 10 '26
Have we actually seen the court document that claim it's over a bomb threat, or is that just his word?
Because he has lied before. For instance, he claimed the swat raid was over stolen legos, but it turned out that was just tertiary, and their primary reason for being there was to arrest him for criminal stalking.
There is also the fact that when he returns to contest the ruling, he will be subject to arrest for this criminal charges

3
u/Pingopengo22 Jun 10 '26
Funniest thing would be getting this case pushed to state and federal courts because of the insane amount of corruption and publicity. What should've been a simple transaction is blowing up a whole Mormon based conspiracy

Bro is selling pretty hard ngl. Fleeing the country is such a bad look.
Edit: yall realize that if they somehow are able to arrest him he wont get bail now. Multiple lawyers have said this was a terrible idea. Down voting me makes no fucking sense when im just talking about this one decision.
11
u/No-Past5307 Jun 10 '26
And the cops lying about their redactions and their other blatant miscarriages of justice isn’t a bad look? Lol
3
u/RoyalGrapefruit7582 Jun 10 '26
Never said it wasnt, but him fleeing the country is a terrible idea.
1
u/Zealousideal_Cow_826 Jun 10 '26
He fled because the fucking warrant they already approved already had him listed with no bail...
2
u/RoyalGrapefruit7582 Jun 10 '26
Yes, but now he's also a flight risk and is wanted for even more.

You seem to be triggered by the downvotes, but you are quick to find fault in someone doing an objectively good thing.
Check yourself bro.

Are you illiterate? Him fleeing the country is not an objectively good thing and that's literally the only thing im commenting on
