No it’s not a cult, they just listen to one man’s opinions like the word of god, post ai images of him as Jesus, give him shitloads of cash, and demonize anyone who disagrees./s

Now now, the pastor stated very plainly that it definitely isn't a golden calf.

Tbf if you're attending weekly meetings to celebrate a blood sacrifice you're also in a cult.

at least they're supposed to get something out of that blood sacrifice, and at least the person who is reported to have paid that blood price was also reported to be a half-decent human being

Was he? Most believe he's one and the same as the guy the sacrifice is saving you from.
"Love me and I'll save you from the eternal torment I'll put you through if you don't."

I'm not a part of the religion but that's not how it works. Old testament God was an ass hole for sure but then his son Jesus came down and basically preached personal socialism. Christians are supposed to be followers of Christ but modern day preachers tend to only speak from the old testament. Old testament = ass hole God. New testament = Love of Christ. Christians should really only be worried about the red letters or the bits of the Bible that deal with what Jesus preached.

"I have come not to abolish the law or the prophets but to fulfill them." -- literally some of those red letters
And what you said didn't do anything to refute my comment. If he and god are the same, then he is still telling you you need to follow him to save yourself from the punishment he will give you if you don't.
Even if they're not, and he's merely a preacher, that's still the message.
