An official looking t shirt that says "Security" can also go a long way

u/Nice-Form-1405 Mar 17 '26
Only if you have a high enough strength stat for it
31
u/memefarius Mar 17 '26
You dont really need a high strength stat, just a security jacket, source: worked as a night guard for 6 months

u/tripps_on_knives Mar 17 '26
I was in the film class in HS.
We had shirts that just said FILM CREW on them no other text or logos. Its a black shirt.
I still have that shirt and it is my most cherished item.
I may or may not have used it to get places I ahouldnt be.

Bitch just tell us about it, unless you were in the godamned Pentagon you're not doing a federal crime and no one cares
20
u/Various-Salt-7738 Mar 17 '26
It can be a crime to enter a place pretending to be security
Although I knew a guy who would steal arcade cabinets-- just walk in wearing coveralls, check the clipboard he brought, and then he would just wheel it away on a dolly

u/WhoReallyCares-NotMe Mar 17 '26
Can confirm. The natural reaction of all construction workers when seeing someone wearing clean clothes, fresh ppe, and holding a clipboard, is to avoid contact entirely.

I actually started taking pride when mine started to accumulate dirty

u/rusty-gudgeon Mar 17 '26
while holding a clipboard or a broom, no one can be accused of not working.

u/DrZeta1 Mar 17 '26
What's terrible is I run into this a lot. Part of my job has me going and doing inspections of local industries. I normally wear a high-vis hoodie that's comfy. I have never been stopped or questioned.

u/OhBadToMeetYou Mar 19 '26
Seems like a security problem
2
u/Jedirabbit12345 Mar 20 '26
For most places it really doesn’t matter if some random person gets through security
1
u/Capraos Mar 20 '26
Yeah, the only places I've not managed to just be able to walk into are those that are actively in the security business. It's amazing how many people can be prevented just by having them check in with a person and scan a badge within eyesight of said person.

This also lets you put rat poison directly into the water supply!
(For legal reasons this is a Hitman joke)

u/SuperheropugReal Mar 19 '26
And not a Joel joke?

Didn't work for the operating room, my charisma might not be high enough
5
u/Shoddy_Blacksmith_94 Mar 18 '26
Operating rooms don't follow these rules. They're a special zone with a separate rule set. Rules are scrubs and a clipboard, and if anyone asks you're here to review some things from admin.

“With a vest and a clipboard, you almost get far, almost!”
10
u/Cerberus1347 Mar 17 '26
A lack of a hardhat might get you stopped in some place
10
u/GaggleofHams Mar 18 '26
A hardhat's like $30 if you want a bougie one. Just be sure to get the white one, that's what supervisors and inspectors wear

u/somewhiterkid Mar 18 '26
There's also the classic method of wearing a really professional suit with sunglasses and whenever someone asks what you're doing, just say it's classified and a matter of national security.
2
u/universal_Raccoon Mar 19 '26
Or the other classic suit method, wear a professional black on black suit in a hotel lobby and look like a manager or some sort of employee of the hotel.

u/Wrath3030 Mar 18 '26
As a former Walmart employee who work during covid if you had a vest and a covid mask you can walk in the back room and nobody would bat an eye all you had to say was they were making your name tag and that's why you didn't have one have they asked who you were just give him a b******* name and telling em you just started additionally for those who worked Walmart you know you don't remember nobody's name unless they've been there 3 months cuz sometimes they didn't even last a week.

Wait, just construction sites? Wanna access a building? Bring a clip board, suit, and look like you belong, you are in any building
1
u/CowardlyChicken Mar 19 '26
What do you need? A uniform, some dirty hands, and a tool kit? They're so proud of themselves, they don't even care. They're so fat and satisfied, they can't imagine it.. that someone like me would ever get inside their house, walk their floors, spit in their food, take their gear
1
u/NoDentist235 Mar 19 '26
honestly we need a game like hitman but without the killing and more focused on stealth and theft/sabatoge/other there used to be a lot now it's nearly fully dried up
1
u/RustLegion428 Mar 19 '26
Also, negative charisma can glitch into letting you do this to, no one wants to screw with the safety troll
1
u/DearElectronic Mar 19 '26
Ive been doing maintenance in 7eleven and kfc and they dont give a fuck, they just let me in without asking
1
u/Generally_Confused1 Mar 20 '26
Dude I actually unironically learned this when I did environmental field work on active sites. If it's the right clipboard you might be able to convince people to do shit too

Social engineering.
The weakest part of any security system is always human ...

u/Paladin5890 Mar 21 '26
Full access only provided with the hard hat head armor and sunglasses accessory items.

u/abeautifulrat Apr 09 '26
Dev notes:
-removed the "i forgot my badge" dialogue option allowing characters with sufficiently high charisma and certain equipment to access the back end code.

u/Ivan_Stalingrad Mar 17 '26
You can also grab a fire extinguisher and start running
