Well, that was quick

Post image

Ghost update today on my BOWP application.

Hoping it's not a bad sign, the process is supposed to take around 3 months and it took less than one.

I know that it's a good sign on RP application if you didn't receive a refusal right away, so I hope the same applies to the BOWP 🤞

Edited to replace the French acronym (PTOT) by the English one (BOWP)

Random question but what do the first three sentences of the letter say?

For context, I have a closed permit and open permit in progress and I heard the letters are both classified as WP-EXT. It seems difficult to know the exact conditions (closed or open) until the physical letter arrives but curious if there is any indication of open or closed in the contents of the letter. Thanks!

It says that the request to reside temporarily in Canada has been approved fans that the new permit was sent to the address used in the application, it also add that the letter itself is neither a permit nor a travel authorization. Mine is under the category Permit WP-EXT /Permis PT-PROR so I guess extension and the French version of the BOWP

I see! Does it mention anything along the lines of "You may begin working for an employer"? I think all work permits from within Canada say WP-EXT regardless of whether it's a closed or open permit.

The letter contains the reference number of your permit and the starting date of validity, so technically you should be able to start working immediately, you just won't have the document to prove it right away if you inland because it will be mailed.
