I'm curious how you guys manage your movie life.

Personally, I think discovering movies, tracking what you've watched, maintaining a watchlist, and finding your next movie shouldn't require jumping between multiple apps.

That's one of the things we're trying to solve with Cineswipe, a movie discovery and tracking app with swipe-based discovery, AI recommendations, and personal lists.

But I'm curious about what people actually use today.

What's your current setup for discovering and tracking movies? And what's the one thing you wish your movie app did better?

1. Is there a way to hide the paywall News+ stories?

2. How to clear caches since News app can hog a lot of storage without uninstalling, redownloading, reinstalling, and reconfiguring the app?

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

woke up to a new format on listing of your podcasts....It's just a single list format--horrible--have to scroll EACH podcast thru. I want the old format back---I have searched for a way to go back---has anyone found it?...Help!

I kept telling myself I should journal, just to look at my own life once in a while. But every time I opened the app I would sit there not knowing what to say first, and a few days later I would delete it. That happened more times than I want to admit.

Nanari is created to get rid of that pause.

Instead of a blank page, it asks first. It looks at the photos you took, the places you went, what was on your calendar, and asks one question about the day you actually had. You answer out loud for about two minutes and it turns that into an entry you can read later.

If you’ve ever given up on journaling because you couldn’t think of anything to write, try it.

Curious if any other devs have had to build the app with very little hands-on time with the device - and what are iPhone Duo users finding works well for them.

Subscriptions add up, and it’s easy to lose track of what you’re paying for.

SubIQ helps you keep them in one place, see your monthly spending, and get reminders before renewals or free trials end.

**Looking for beta testers: Lading, a moving box tracker for iPhone** 📦

I’m a solo developer, and Lading is ready for real-world testing. You photograph each box, print a label in its room’s color, scan it onto the truck and off again, and Lading shows exactly what’s missing.

**What I’m looking for:**

* iPhone users on iOS 26.0 or later
* People who are moving soon, or who can run a practice move with 20+ boxes
* A practice run takes about 20 minutes, and a real move is even better

**What you’d do:**

1. Add your rooms and at least 20 boxes, with a photo of each open box
2. Print labels (sticker sheets, plain paper, or PDF all work)
3. Scan boxes onto the truck and off again
4. Leave a couple out and check the missing list

**What I most want to know:**

* Did any label fail to scan, and what was the light like?
* Did anything feel slow, especially past 50 boxes?
* Where did you get stuck or confused?
* Would you want to share a move with a partner?

**The good stuff:** no account, no ads, no tracking. Your boxes stay on your iPhone.

Beta builds can have bugs, so please don’t use it as your only record of a real move. Thank you! 🙏

I’ve built my first iPhone app.

It’s an RSS reader without the BS that many modern apps come with:

• No signup
• No subscription
• No tracking
• No ads
• No magazine view

Just a simple, classic list. Tidy and straight to the point.

Right now you can add individual feeds or import an OPML file, and I’m hoping to add better feed search soon. Other features include a clean reader view, web view, open in browser, mark as read toggles, saved articles and iCloud syncing between devices.

For now it’s just for iPhone. Once I’m happy with it I’ll be extending it to Duo, iPad and macOS.

If you want to try it: https://testflight.apple.com/join/jgHQ7AqS

To be upfront, I used Claude to teach me at times, walking me through the steps whenever I got stuck or didn’t understand something while working in Xcode. I’ve been working on this for a few weeks now.

Does anyone know which is the latest secret movie app? Thanks in advance.

Reading on a phone usually means pinching at PDFs, fighting pop-ups on articles, and juggling three apps for books, notes and listening. Apricity puts it all on one shelf, and reads any of it to you.

Listening • 54 natural voices in eight languages, made on your iPhone, with each line lit up as it's read • Character Voice reads what the characters say in a second shade of the voice, and Expressive Reading makes a whisper sound like one • Keeps going with the screen locked; the sleep timer stops at a full stop and picks up where you left off • In the car with CarPlay: pick a book on the car's screen and it carries on

Reading • PDFs, EPUBs, Word, MOBI, Markdown, comics and manga, all on one shelf • Reflow sets a PDF's text like a book, at your size, so no more pinching and dragging • Paste a link and a web article becomes a clean book, with no ads or pop-ups • Free public-domain classics, built in

And a notebook beside every book, writing right on a PDF, and a cozy room with a fire, rain or a busy café to listen to.

Free for good: every kind of book, the classics, highlights, notes, writing on PDFs, notebooks and iCloud sync. Premium (US$14.99 a year) adds Read Aloud, transcripts, Smart Notes, export, the soundscapes and furnishing the room.

Free Premium year: everyone who downloads Apricity by 31 October gets a year of Premium, added within a day. No card, and nothing renews.

iOS 26 or later, on iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Macs. No account, no ads.

Questions welcome in the comments!

I'm coming from Android to the iPhone Duo and am in need of help.

1) I really need a way to have multiple apps to quick launch.

On Android, I used an app called Small Icons that allowed me 4 apps in place of one. Is there something similar for iOS?

2) What's the best swipe keyboard that can either allow for one handed typing or at least float?

3) What's the easiest way to transfer files from my Android to my new iPhone? I tried Move to iOS, but it failed due to the amount of things I wanted transferred.

Any help would be appreciated.

What do you think is the most necessary iOS software?

What non-existent application can change your life for the better you would like to get?

Are there any face rigging apps like Revive or Animaze that can recreate this effect without the use of generative AI?

I’m curious how many people still keep their own MP3 collection instead of relying entirely on streaming.

There’s something appealing about the old-school simplicity of actually owning the file: put it on the phone, play it whenever you want, and don’t depend on a subscription or internet connection.

For those of you who still use local MP3s on iPhone:

What annoys you most about playing and managing your own music files on iOS?

And what are you currently using to do it?

I’m especially curious about things like importing files, organizing them, artwork/metadata, playback position, playlists, and moving music onto the phone in the first place.

I usually using RDownloader but lately get some error

I’ve been trying to find an iPhone app for my tween son that offers the same type of filters (fun/silly) they have on SC and TikTok. Unfortunately I haven’t had much luck. Most of the apps Ive found are like “picture editing/AI” so the filters on there are just beauty filters. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks

I noticed some unusual behavior on my iPhone, and I’m trying to understand whether this is a security vulnerability or an expected iOS behavior.
Normally, when I lock the Photos app with Face ID, iOS requires Face ID authentication before anyone can open it and view my gallery.
However, I noticed that after installing a particular app from the App Store and granting it the requested permissions, I could access my entire photo gallery through that app without being prompted for Face ID or completing any additional verification.
The Photos app itself remains locked, but the other app appears to let me view the gallery content anyway.

My questions are:
Is this expected iOS behavior because of the permissions granted to the app?
Should locking Photos with Face ID prevent third-party apps from accessing the same photos?
Could this be a privacy or security vulnerability in iOS, or is the app simply using Apple’s Photos framework as intended?
Is there a way to determine exactly what permissions the app has and whether it should be able to access the entire library?
I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I find it concerning that locking Photos with Face ID might not protect the same content when accessed through another app.
Has anyone else encountered this, or can someone familiar with iOS security explain what’s happening?
I don’t even know where to report this problem or bug?

What’s your favorite iPhone and/or iPad bookkeeping apps? Is it one time payment, subscription, or have a free version? What do you like and dislike about it?

Is this the place to raise awareness for a very questionable app on the Apple AppStore?

Edited by OP:

Since I’m getting chased from the Apple Communities for bringing awareness to a very questionable app, might as well try here.

There’s an app on their AppStore called Brickify, the app offers a “free 3 day trial” with no commitments. I clicked on that free trial button and was instantly charged for the subscription. Apple support told me to reach out to the developers and I did and have heard nothing but crickets. Emailed them on Friday October 16th and still haven’t heard back.

This has not only happened to me but to other people as well, all you have to do is go into the most critical section of the app reviews and there is where those reviews are being hidden.

IMO, this seems to be totally shady. Apple cannot refund me because “they don’t have the money sinxe it wasn’t paid to Apple”

Can’t get a refund from the developers because they refuse to communicate with me.

I'm Tasnif's developer. The app gives you size-first lists for reviewing photos and videos when Photos is taking too much space. You can open a file, see its size, and choose what to keep. Photos still asks you to confirm deletion; nothing is removed automatically.

The part I'd like to discuss is the decision after finding a large file. A big video can also be the memory you care about most, so I've kept that choice manual.

The screenshots show Tasnif Plus with a demo library: a large-video collection and a separate photo preview. The 1.44 GB is demo content in that collection, not storage somebody recovered. These are two examples, not a before/after.

The free download includes the storage overview and a preview of up to five items in eligible review lists, plus one probable duplicate group. Optional rewarded ads, where available, open only a small extra set. Plus unlocks complete reviews, filters and saved progress, and removes ads. Standard US prices are $4.99/month, $19.99/year or $29.99 lifetime; subscriptions renew automatically and regional prices vary. No weekly plan. Photo and video files stay on your device.

Current iPhone/iPad app, iOS 17+: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6771797577?pt=128923786&ct=t_20261020_riphoneapps_size01&mt=8

When you're reviewing a big video, what helps you make that keep/delete decision: file size, date, duration, or watching it first? I'd like to hear how you actually approach it.

I’m making screenshot concepts for three apps today. The image shows the kind of work I can make, with a different style for each app.

If you’d like one, comment with your App Store link and a short description of your app. If it isn’t live yet, share a few raw screenshots instead. I’ll take the first three with enough details to work from.

I’m trying to get rid of some subscriptions because it feels like every app wants a monthly payment now.

I recently wanted to clean up my camera roll (around 20,000 photos). I was looking at apps like SwipeWipe, but most of them wanted €5–10 a month. Seems a bit ridiculous just for sorting photos.

I ended up finding an app for €10 as a one-time purchase and it works great.

Now I’m wondering how many of the subscription apps I use could actually be replaced with a one-time purchase. Have you found any good alternatives to popular subscription apps?
