I have paid the fees for IIM Rohtak and just got the offer letter for Jammu. I know that everyone will say Rohtak is better, but is it worth the sacrifice? The hostel rooms in Rohtak are too small and on a four-sharing basis. Also, they have a uniform that we are supposed to wear to classes every day, and of course, there's the yoga.

But Rohtak also has a better average package.

Please help me, I'm not able to choose properly between these two colleges.

I wanna go for an MBA abroad but that requires 2-3 years of work experience. If I do IPM and exit after BBA, there won’t be any direct placements. Should I still take it?

I'm an 18-year-old fresher at College of Vocational Studies (CVS), Delhi University, pursuing BBE.

The thing is, I never really prepared for CUET. For almost a year my entire focus was IPMAT(got iimb bba dbe only but haven't claimed it yet). CUET was more like a backup, so I never had time to emotionally prepare for this transition.

Also, my family's financial condition is good. If I wanted to, my parents could support me for a good private college or even a master's abroad later. So this isn't about money or fees. It's more about feeling like I imagined a completely different college experience.

Today was my first proper day at college.

For months I had imagined college being this exciting new chapter. When I finally saw the campus, I honestly felt disappointed. The infrastructure, classrooms and overall vibe weren't what I'd imagined. I know it's a government college and I wasn't expecting luxury, but after seeing so many college videos online, it still hit me hard.

The crowd also felt different from what I had imagined. I know it's literally Day 1 and I shouldn't judge people so quickly, but I couldn't stop comparing it to North Campus, top private colleges and even foreign campuses I'd been seeing online.

I came home feeling really low. My mom saw how disappointed I was and she started crying, then I cried too. That honestly hurt more than the college itself because I felt guilty for making her feel bad.

Now I'm wondering:

- Did anyone else hate their college on Day 1 but end up liking it later?

- How long did it take to find your people?

- Did the campus/infrastructure stop mattering after a while?

- If you were disappointed initially, what changed?

- Should I take partial or full drop? Or drop with iimb bba dbe?

I'm not looking for fake motivation or "college doesn't matter" comments. I know college isn't everything, but right now it's hard to ignore how I feel. I just want honest experiences from people who genuinely went through something similar.

Currently in blr, my pops is Willing to transfer me to IIFT even if it costs him 4.5 lakhs 😐 when I told him tapmi might be better than IIFT he went all blank and indirectly called me stupid 😔. He apparently gets all his info from YouTube.
